Baghdad - An Iraqi civilian was killed in a US helicopter attack in Mosul on Friday, as the US military reported that two of its soldiers were killed in combat operations in the capital Baghdad.

The Iraqi civilian was killed and five others wounded Friday morning when a US helicopter bombed a residential area in Mosul, 402 kilometres north of Baghdad, the independent Voices of Iraq news agency reported citing an official security source.

Two women and two children were among the wounded in the attack on Mosul's south-eastern Mithaq neighbourhood, General Abdul-Kareem al-Juburi, police operations director of Ninevah province, told Voices of Iraq.

There was no immediate comment from the US army.

2. Residential areas can contain valid targets.
That article contains so few facts that no reasonable judgment can be made in any direction.

4. So? Kill everybody is okay if a 'valid' target is there? Bullshit!
Send in the ground troops. There will be military casualties, of course. But that's war. That's what the country let little georgie do. But there is no justification for taking our innocent women and children from the air. Not at all. Especially considering these people are fighting to get an illegal occupying military the f**k out of THEIR country.

5. You like reports of IED and grim milestones reported in the MSM ?
I don't like the daily body count #'s being 'breaking news' cuz war is war and many die.

I'd prefer less US boots on the ground and more local yocals calling in the air strikes myself.

Let diplomacy solve the squabbles and have the Iraqi's vote for the downsize and redeployment plans

7. Of course not. That's stupid. But I also HATE the thought of little kids
and old men and women dying a horrific death by being blown to bits. They didn't VOLUNTEER for war. They're the true innocents.

The only real solution? GET THE F**K OUT.

8. the solution isn't that simple. As you know
the front runners in the '08 campaign agree;
"We broke Iraq......."

Finger pointing isn't the solution when the next administration takes office.
When we Dems take the oval office, the commitment to the Iraqi government will be there.
You can quote me on it.

9. There is no simple solution with all the collaboration on both sides of
the aisle for an extended occupation.

But it's the only way to eliminate Americans from dying over there.

11. It is safe to say that you missed the part
in my response where I said "That article contains so few facts that no reasonable judgment can be made in any direction."

> Kill everybody is okay if a 'valid' target is there?

Nice straw man you have there.
