Nixon library's changes start with Watergate
Source: LA Times

The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda has long been the most kicked-around of presidential libraries, and nothing invited more ridicule than the dim, narrow room purporting to describe the scandal that drove its namesake from office.
This was history as Nixon wanted it remembered, a monument to his decades-long campaign to refurbish his name. Nixon himself approved the exhibit before the library's 1990 opening.
"Everybody who visited it, who knew the first thing about history, thought it was a joke," one Nixon scholar, David Greenberg, said of the Watergate gallery. "You didn't know whether to laugh or cry."
In late March, however, workers roped off the Watergate gallery and methodically began to destroy it. Armed with hammers, a crowbar, a screw gun and a Sawzall, they yanked big display cabinets out of the floor, sliced through tough fiberboard panels, detached more than 100 fluorescent lighting tubes and removed the long strips of plexiglass that had sandwiched text transparencies.

1. Bush's library will probably be like that Creationist Museum
It'll look decent but be full of crap, all of it. What else could they put in there - since they won't put the truth?

5. Since Bush IS a creationist,
his pathetic library, containing both of the books he has read, might as well be combined with a creationist museum.
Gitmo would be a good location for it.

10. I'm sure there will be an enormous gift shop.
The only licensed dealer for George Bush action figures, life-size cardboard George and Laura displays, and a wide array of books proving that George W. Bush was the bestest president ever.

7. It's a tradition
which goes back at least to Jefferson, who had a real library and wanted Congress to take advantage of it.

Somehow this tradition will have to accommodate the anti-intellectual moron who currently occupies the White House. I can hardly wait to see what he and his cronies come up with.

8. RMN is doing high RPMs, I'm sure.
Let's hear it for Archibald Cox and Elliot Richardson, the heroes of the Saturday Night Massacre, which finally caught the attention of the House Judiciary Committee in 1974. Their story deserves to be told in a new exhibit at the Nixon Library.

By the way, did I mention that Nixon was an asshole?

13. Right. The evidence would have shown that
W was unable to complete the coloring assignments without Daddy's help.
