Bodies of snatched Iraqi U.S. embassy couple found
Sun Jul 8, 2007 4:17AM EDT

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The bodies of an Iraqi husband
and wife who worked for the U.S. embassy in Baghdad
have been found, a U.S. official said on Sunday, and
America's top diplomat in the country vowed to hunt
their killers down.

"It is with a profound sense of sadness and regret
that we announce the loss of two locally employed
staff who were kidnapped in May and killed at the
hands of violent extremists," U.S. Ambassador to
Iraq Ryan Crocker said in a statement.

A U.S. official, who spoke on the condition on
anonymity, said the couple were Hazim Hanna and
his wife Enel Meskoni. Their identities were confirmed
through fingerprint records.

Hanna went missing first and when Meskoni went to
look for him, she was abducted as well, U.S. officials
said at the time of their disappearance.

2. Very sad to hear this. I fear that anyone connected with our
embassy will not have a chance of staying safe.

3. "America's top diplomat in the country vowed to hunt their killers down."
Shows just how out of touch with reality the Bu$hco Show (USDOS) is in Iraq. Every day is a new horror .. or, probably for the Iraqis, every hour. We have plunged Iraq into a hell that is beyond description. Bu$h and Cheney have loosed the blood-dimmed tide and drowned, everywhere, the ceremony of innocence.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all convictions, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

5. The ambassador is going to hunt someone down?
I doubt the perpetrators will be hanging around the Green Zone, and I doubt the ambassador ever leaves it.
