12. Why should that make any difference?
It should be illegal to take BOTH parents from kids and send them BOTH halfway around the world into combat. It shouldn't matter if they are divorced or not.

6. OMG.
This is so heartbreaking. Why are both parents in Iraq? This is inexcusable. How heartless a government we have.

14. Expect more of the same
for everyone found there must be several more that haven't surfaced yet. What horrible suffering. A 23 year old male babysitter just couldn't be equipped for the mental stress of caring for young kids, who are not his own. So many of our local tragedies are a young male boyfriend left to care for a small child. What's is so terrible is that kids can survive bad beatings over and over and NOT die. Why do they have to be dead or broken before someone steps in. God Damn!

15. I would say.
The male was unemployed, 23 years old, and with previous arrest for an assault. Left to care for 3 young children who were not his own.

16. The real question is why the military who oversees such things
thought that this arrangement was acceptable.

17. Right now the children are said to be with the mother's parents.
I wonder why all three were not given to the parents to begin with, before the mother went to Iraq.
