Atlanta man killed in road rage incident on Gulf Coast highway
http://www.nola.com/newsflash/louisiana/index.ssf?/base/news-6/107238234227370.xml

I am posting this because the headline is misleading. It doesn't sound like road rage. Nor is it a case of a winner leaving the casino and getting run down for his cash.

It sounds like a family of South Asian descent being targeted and one man killed perhaps because of "terra alert" hysteria.

The Biloxi area is NOT about this, and generally speaking people of all kinds are more than welcome to come donate to the local casinos and local economy. This type of event would normally not occur, and I am feeling that the anti-terra hysteria may have impacted on a weak mind.

Obviously the facts about this tragedy are not yet in. I hope I am wrong and racism played no part here but I am concerned.

2. An Asian man killed while driving on a freeway by rednecks.

<snip>

Gazzo said witnesses told investigators that one of the occupants of the harassing car then got on a cell phone and apparently called another vehicle, a brown sports utility vehicle, which pulled alongside the Atlanta family and opened fire with an automatic weapon.

Gazzo said the family's vehicle was hit eight times. He said one of the shots hit Ghanshyam under the arm, killing him instantly.

4. ahhh...forgot you had to register
This computer I'm using must be registered for nola.com.

From the sound of it, two vehicles with ignorant jerkwads collaborated to shoot at a car full of visitors from Atlanta of South Asian descent. One of the victims was killed.

"Gazzo said Ghanshyam and his family arrived in Biloxi on Wednesday to go to the casinos.

About 7 a.m. Thursday, Gazzo said they left casinos, getting back on I-10 East in Ocean Springs. Soon after they merged onto the highway, a small, blue imported car with a loud, large aftermarket muffler, came up alongside the family, repeatedly swerving close to them, then getting in front of them and slowing down...

"

The headlines attributes the killing to road rage but in my area, road rage is generally understood to mean poor driving (or perceived poor driving) that causes the rager to lose his control.

Going to the Gulf Coast casinos has become a Christmas tradition for many in the south. You can get a great buffet with lots of choices for a reasonable price and indulge in a little drinking and gambling too. Generally just good clean adult fun that doesn't involve the wommenfolk washing dishes for hours afterwards. Everyone is welcome at the festivities.

We don't need some ignorant idiots ruining it for everyone and making them wonder if it is safe to attend.

Sigh....

5. Vigilantes....?
Is this what I am intepreting from the article? Sad day in America
when the fake hatred instilled by this so-called "terrorist" alert
causes people to kill fellow Americans out of putrid racism.

I want my country back! NOW!
