bush*, blair to Visit Libya Next Year
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/9611FC1A-E5BE-4A3F-9E34-6A0B619F9E01.htm

<snip>
US President George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair will visit Libya next year, it was reported on Wednesday.

"The British premier will visit Tripoli at the beginning of next year, followed by a visit by US President George Bush," Libyan Leader Muammar al-Qadhafi's son Saif al-Islam told the Asharq al-Awsat daily.

"I foresee (the Bush visit) happening after the lifting of US sanctions which I believe should happen within three months at most," he told the London-based newspaper by telephone from Tripoli.

Libya has won praise from the international community, including longtime foes London and Washington, after it said last week it was renouncing efforts to develop weapons of mass destruction.

Edited on Wed Dec-24-03 03:48 PM by MaineDem
I can't put my finger on it exactly but there's something there that doesn't seem right.

Edited because I can't spell, it seems.

2. me, too. WMD? Or Japanese development of Malta shelf oil field?
hard to figure these days, when development is so entwined with purported national security concerns....and it just plain smells of a pay off.

3. I really doubt this
Will wait see if there is any confirmation from anyone other than the Libyans.

Just because they got Qadhafi to back down on WMDs does not mean they want to do a photo op with the guy.

5. I doubt it, too. Can't see B*sh doing the tent thing with so many American
lives lost on the Pan Am flight over Lockerbie. Unless Rove has it to play as some sort of Nixon/China reassessment of relations with former bad guys? Power of US diplomacy, etc.

6. there is some doubt that
big mo had anything to do with lockerbie. some "credible soures" paint a tale of discredited informants and iran involvement.there`s alot more than meets the eye on this deal....

11. Perhaps Qhadafy will give junior a snake as a peace offerings, LOL!

Check this out!

12. Moammar Qhadafy, President of Libya. I was shocked to see that this criminal was participating in these proceedings. Now we know the deep down criminal nature of this New World Order Plan. However, since Libya is prophesied to march against Israel from the south in the Russian-led invasion of Ezekiel 38-39, perhaps we are witnessing the inclusion of Libya into the global plans of Antichrist."

Then again maybe this is where junior is getting his information from?

Just a thought, cuz it is far out! I don't believe in that Ezekiel crap either.

7. Notice how he sends the poodle first...
then he'll go. :eyes:

I figure something strange is going on with this one. We know that
Lybia has oil..and plenty of it...but what made Gaddafi change his
mind so quickly?
Maybe its a trap...

10. Are we going to get pictures of them shaking hands . ..
with a scumbag that will turn around to bite them in the ass 20 years from now when another republican wants to go bomb a middle-eastern country for posessing imaginary weapons of mass destruction?
