Renzi says he will not resign from House
Source: AP

By JENNIFER TALHELM and PAUL DAVENPORT
WASHINGTON -- Republicans and Democrats are marshaling potential candidates to run for Arizona Republican Rep. Rick Renzi's seat, a week after the FBI raided his family business in an investigation into a 2005 land deal.

Renzi, R-Flagstaff, has denied all wrongdoing and has said he will serve out his term. State Republicans also say they support him.

But Republican Party operatives already are floating the names of potential candidates, including former state Senate President Ken Bennett. Members of both parties are contemplating a special election to fill Renzi's seat if he decides to step down.

"It clearly concerns us that as this investigation goes where it may head to," Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen said. "We're watching it very carefully. I feel for Rick and his family -- tough times for him."

3. As soon as we can get the Democrats to kick out Jefferson
This isn't something the Democrats can take a stand on.

18. Considering mine was the second post in the thread
Edited on Fri Apr-27-07 02:24 PM by Tempest
There was no one else who had brought up Jefferson.

And my point should be obvious.

And why didn't you ask rodeodance what his point was as well?

19. Maybe you misunderstood me.
I guess what I was trying to say is that Jefferson should be locked up to. I don't like the way that they squashed his subpoena. I know that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But with 90 grand in your freezer, it is hard to ignore. I guess the Culligan man could have put it there, but I have my doubts.

My point is this: I don't care if the are dem or pub, if they're dirty, they gotta go.

It is just this thread was about a corrupt repuke, and I did not understand the reference to our own dirty laundry.

That is all.

4. "I feel for Rick and his family -- tough times for him"
Yeah, it's always hard on a guy and his family when his corruption is exposed and he has to answer for his crimes. Nobody ever thinks of the children when they're bringing justice to a criminal who is subverting the system and lining his pockets from the public treasury. It's just so, you know, tough for Rick and his family.

Maybe we should let the poor guy off the hook. Hasn't he suffered enough?

5. How dare you make fun of their private pain!
Edited on Fri Apr-27-07 11:04 AM by Coventina
It's a personal issue, don't you know?

Etc.

:eyes:

on edit: Maybe there's some sort of rehab for him to go to, shortly after his announcement that he is "a corrupt American" or something to that effect.

6. Au contraire!
I have nothing but the deepest feelings for Mr. Renzi and the situation he and his family find themselves in. Contempt is a feeling, right?

"Tough times for him"???? :wtf:

This bastage needs to know, up close and personal, "tough times". My only regret is that I don't get to be the one to learn him.

Loyalty to the Constitution, the Country, their Oaths and the Law aren't even in the top ten.
