Two Cops Plead Guilty to Manslaughter (92 year old lady killed in ATL)
Source: NBC 11 in Atlanta

Hours after the release of an indictment that charged them with felony murder, two Atlanta police officers pleaded guilty to manslaughter and other charges in the death of a 92-year-old woman last November. A third officer indicted on lesser charges in the case did not plead guilty.

Typically, the officers would have a confidential informant go to the house and make a buy but they did not. Instead, Officer Smith went to a magistrate judge and, in order to get a no-knock warrant, lied by claiming that an informant had made a buy and that surveillance cameras were positioned outside the Johnston home.

When the officers went up to the house after dark, it took them about two minutes to pry the burglar bars off the front door. By the time they got inside, Johnston had a .38 revolver which she fired one time at the officers. The bullet did not strike any of the officers, as had been previously reported, and was found in the roof outside the house.

After the shooting, Smith and Junnier met and concocted the story that the informant bought cocaine at the house. They also told the informant to lie to investigators, but he later admitted that he never bought drugs at 933 Neal Street.

The poor lady fired one shot, into the air as a warning. Then they killed her and covered it up. Bastards.

5. You got to love this "don't mess with me" lady...

I hope this shows police the reason WHY they have to obtain a warrant and that it is always a risk using force and therefor it should only be used with great caution and in emergencies, not because you're trigger happy and have a great time kicking down doors.

10. Citizen Hero. What a spunky gal! It's the everyday heroes
that I admire the most also, Crayson.

You have to admire anyone that simply survives to 90something. I don't believe I've ever heard of a nonagenarian being an old prick, though I am sure there must be some. I cannot imagine how any person that ornery would manage to reach the 90's. Maybe I'm naive.

I do love and respect most older folks and hope to be joining them in several decades.

Even if it means dying while defending myself from the HHM, homeland hired mercenaries, at age 90, I want to see what happens, to see how it ends, even as tough as it may end up being. Am I a masochist or what? :)

7. Dogs don't deserve to be gunned down either.
I know, I know, it's just an expression.

I hope they really nail these guys.

3. When they're done in Atlanta.....
I wonder if those agents could stop and spend a few minutes in St. Louis. They would probably learn that the Atlanta police are amateurs at this type of shenanigans.

4. Good
Throw them in the fucking slammer and make an example out of them.

We need to bring an end to the no-knock warrant.

6. Is this the Granny that they tried to Smear after they shot her?

I don't see why these cops are going to get jail.

Cops or DEA agents kill an innocent person every 6-8 months in a mistake raid and have been doing so since at least 1985. I've never heard of any of these pitiful excuses for humans getting any jail time.

8. Oh, I'd say they'll do time.
They've plead guilty to the charges. They lied to a judge magistrate to get a no-knock warrant, basing their request upon claims they knew to be entirely false. As a result, they murdered an old woman who just thought her house was being broken into.

9. Yes, she is.
Read the article and you'll know why they're going to jail.
