India firm on gas pipe from Iran

* Bruce Loudon, South Asia correspondent
* April 16, 2007

A DISPUTE between Washington and its two major South Asian allies is intensifying as India and Pakistan dig in their heels over building a highly strategic, $10 billion gas pipeline stretching 2600km from Iran.
Despite pressure from the US, which has linked the pipeline to Iran's nuclear ambitions, New Delhi and Islamabad are thumbing their noses at Washington. Together, they are about to put the finishing touches to their deal with Tehran, with potentially far-reaching political and security implications.

Many South Asian analysts see this as a telling comment on Washington's failure to line up enthusiasm outside the industrialised and developed world for its attempts to isolate Iran.

Though India has voted against Iran's nuclear plans in global meetings, South Asian nations have generally paid little heed to calls for the country's isolation.

1. We have no clout whatsoever.
A bankrupt debtor nation with a shambles for an army and a dry drunk fanatic for a leader.

We WERE powerful.

3. "You are either with us. Or against us." Well, Mr. President, I have to ask-
They seem to be siding with Iran.

Mind you, they seem to love Hitler by paying homage to the degenerate filth:

Globalization cannot work until nationalism, on the part of EVERY country, is abolished. Then we will have a more level playing field, and as a united Earth, I have very few qualms just so long as nobody praises that Hitler garbage or any terrorist nation (I wouldn't trust the Iranian government as far as I could throw them - which wouldn't be far). Can true united-earth Globalization truly happen? It's a wait and see approach.

5. It's the capitalist way. A dagger because they want to invest in a gas pipeline?
Do we get to tell everyone what to do, and if they don't do it then we can call them enemies?

Did you know that the swatika was an ancient Hindu sanskrit symbol that meant "well being" before it was appropriated by the Nazis?

6. "We"
didn't give India jobs.

For a deeper treatment on that examine the history of the UK in India and extrapolate.

Giving has never been in the equation.
