Brown and Bush 'got on very well'
Source: BBC News

Gordon Brown has said he "got on very well" with US President George W Bush, after the pair met for the first time in Washington DC on Friday.

Mr Brown told the BBC he discussed global trade with the president in an informal meeting at the White House.

He said he had not expected to meet Mr Bush, who just "happened to be available to come and see me".

The talks are being interpreted as a sign of the US preparing to deal with Mr Brown as Tony Blair's successor.

If he is the replacement I guess they don't understand American politics. He has to be the most stupidest person in the world if he agreed to have a talk with another idiot.

1. Or Sly as a Fox
If he really believes that Bush "just happened to be available" then he hasn't been paying a whole lot of attention to events.

Bush is more than isolated. He desperately needs to make nice, but the only people he can con are those who haven't met him yet.

2. Any decent public figure would be open to discussions
bush* has got to realize that he cannot hide in the shadow of Tony Blair any longer. Gordon Brown can begin to shape the discussions and hence lead the western world until such time that bush* is gone and we are out of danger.

4. bush will just cut and run like he has all his life. His daddy may come in and fix the problem or
not. My guess is that spit-for-hair-creme is finally done.

5. Has been much written about Brown won't be as buddy-buddy with
Bush, esp. on foreign policy......Time will tell. The bloom is already off the rose re: Brown in the UK, from what I've been reading.
