Bush to talk up war funding
President will accuse the Democratic Congress of endangering U.S. troops

WHITE HOUSE - With Congress returning from its spring break, President Bush is renewing his demand for an Iraq War funding bill he can sign.

The Senate is back in session today, and the House returns next week. So the president will use a visit to an American Legion post in Virginia to renew his vow to veto any funding bill that includes a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops.

And since he's got the votes to sustain a veto, Bush will accuse the Democratic Congress of endangering the troops since vital cash for the Iraq mission is already running short.

4. He can't even trust local Chamber of Commerce
for a friendly audience anymore. An American Legion is risky business for a speech, although they likely have been vetted to insure they are too old or stupid to utter a negative response, much less a boo. Also, the demographic makes it unlikely that Bush will get more than stony silence in response to a laugh line.

Active duty is his best forum, those guys can be ordered to clap, or even smile. What I have noticed is that even at military bases, they are using fewer black soldiers as props behind and next to Bush. I suspect the AA soldiers are the most likely to refuse to play along, although I have no specific reason to think so.

5. Exactly, remember when there was always a Black soldier
over his left shoulder?

Also notice the lack of ANY African Americans as spokespeople for the War, lack of Women as spokespeople, lack of minorities period with the ability to speak about the War.

No minority Generals other than one classy African American at the beginning of the war. I believe his name was BROOKS.

He has been "reassigned" and has lost his voice in the Corporate Media.
Oops, almost forgot ~ Condi is allow to bring us the BUSH OPINIONS.

7. Bush got an assist for his argument ... from al-Maliki

Troop funding transer
Bush said the Defense Department will soon send Congress a request to transfer $1.6 billion from other military accounts to cover funding for troops - a move needed, he said, because lawmakers have delayed his emergency spending request. He warned that continued delays would undermine troop training, slow the repair of equipment and force soldiers to serve longer tours of duty.

Bush got an assist for his argument on Tuesday from Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki who said he saw no need to set a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops. His comments in Japan came a day after tens of thousands of Iraqis took to the streets of two Shiite holy cities, demanding that U.S. forces leave the country.

Bush has asked Congress for more than $100 billion to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan this year. The House and Senate have approved the money, but their bills aim to wind down the war by including timelines for troops to come home - something Bush won't accept.

8. Thank you AP for calling it "War Funding"...
Instead of the BS "support the troops" crap. The best thing we can do to support the troops is get them the hell out of there.
