Bush chides Democrats over war bill

By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 30 minutes ago

CRAWFORD, Texas - President Bush criticized Democrats on Saturday for going
on vacation without first giving him what he wants: a war spending bill free
of orders to pull troops home.

"I recognize that Democrats are trying to show their current opposition to the
war in Iraq," Bush said in his weekly radio address from Crawford, where he is
on a break of his own.

"They see the emergency war spending bill as a chance to make that statement,"
Bush said. "Yet for our men and women in uniform, this emergency war spending
bill is not a political statement, it is a source of critical funding that has a direct
impact on their daily lives."

-snip-

"That means the soonest the House and Senate could get a bill to my desk will
be sometime late this month, after the adverse consequences for our troops and
their families have already begun," Bush said. "For our troops, the clock is ticking."

-snip-

Democratic leaders, while eager to show backing for the troops, say Bush is
overstating the consequences of missing those deadlines.

1. But no one is listening.

Most people are on to him by now. The November elections and his approval ratings bear that out beyond any doubt.

Your days are numbered Shit-for-Brains.

3. Bush is so full of shit, the democrats have given the President what he asked
...for plus money for veteran health care and money to secure our ports. What Bush is objecting to is the deadline to bring the troops home.

Well, I say if Bush vetoes the bill that is sent to him, then congress should cut off the funding for prolonging the war and bring the troops home within four to six months. Fuck Bush, this is his stupid war. He lied about the reasons for going into the war. The democrats have no obligation to keep Bush's war going in Iraq. So let's get out of Iraq as soon as possible!

4. If he really wants to "help the troops" the first place he`ll cut is the mercs.
But, I kinda figured all along that the first people to be put in harms way (financially) would be our troops, so that he can prove some kind of point. This proves that he would rather put our troops on the financial line than his pet merc programs. bush is destroying our military and all that they stand for.

5. This from the Vacation President.
Amazing how he consistently finds a way to be reprehensible and ridiculous at the same time.

8. It's of symbolic importance. The Democrats should not back down from Bush.
They have to act like men (for once), since they've already started in that direction.

9. Is George STILL on this little tantrum?
By the way, Mr. Bush; the last time I checked the office of the President of the United States was located in Washington DC, not Crawford TX. Get back to work, you fucking slacker.
