Syria mediating between Iran-Britain over sailors: FM

KUWAIT CITY (AFP) - Syria is mediating between Iran and Britain over the British sailors detained by Tehran 13 days ago, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem was quoted as saying on Wednesday.

"We hope that a satisfactory solution will be reached for the 15 British sailors taken prisoner in Iran," Muallem told Kuwait's Al-Anbaa newspaper.

"Such a solution requires quiet diplomacy and Syria is undertaking such diplomacy between the two countries," he said.

1. So maybe Nancy is so dumb after all mr bu$h
All bu$h can do is tell Iran they must release the hostages and call out Nancy for visiting Syria.

I realize there is nothing to indicate that Nancy Pelosi is involved but, wouldn't it be great if she was able to work through Syria and get the hostages freed?

4. Excellent Observation!!
You're right there's no evidence, but it's good observation nonetheless! I'm inclined to think there very well might be a connection.

5. If Pelosi was involved ...
wouldn't that be some historical sweet irony.

Bush's father was involved in the arms for hostages treason with Iran, when it was secretly negotiated not to release the hostages until after the 1980 election. This happened when Carter's state department were trying to negotiate for release of the hostages. Now 27 years later Pelosi would secure the release, not further imprisonment, of hostages possibly preventing an international incident. And, Bush's son, our fearless leader, is deprived of his thunder from the heavens, in search of a non diplomatic solution. Ah, that would be sweet irony.
