Kings Star Ron Artest Suspected Of Domestic Abuse
LOOMIS, Calif. -- Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest was arrested Monday on suspicion of domestic violence following an incident at his Loomis home, the Placer County Sheriff's Department said.
Authorities said a woman called 911 at 9:23 a.m. reporting that she had been assaulted by Artest.
Deputies responded and said they found both parties in the home, but separated.
After interviewing both parties, Artest was arrested on charges of domestic violence and using force or violence to prevent his victim from reporting a crime, the sheriff's department said. Artest was booked at Placer County Jail. Bail has not been set.

Anyone surprised? First he assaults fans, then neglects his dog, and apparently it is his wife's fault.

2. This man is such a waste of potential.
Glad we in Indiana are rid of him.

4. No kiddin' LeftyMom.
Peja is the best pure shooter in the NBA. Good attitude and a hard worker. What a shame. I don't think he has ever been arrested or even suspected of anything sinister. No gangsta baloney.

6. And he's such a genuinely nice guy, according to everybody I know who's met him.
One thing I really enjoyed about the Kings back when they were peaking was how many really great, community-minded people they had on the team. It was nice to see Vlade and Peja doing their coat drives for kids in Serbia and the charity bowling thing and I forget what else, and Chris Webber letting museums display his collection of documents relating to the history of African Americans. It was nice that while other cities had teams that brought embarrassment, we had guys who'd scrap on the court if they had to, but were darn near model citizens when they left Natomas after the game.

I was just talking with my Dad (a sports fan and fine purveyor of local gossip) and what he had to say was this: Back when they had a core of stand-up guys they could take a gamble on a hothead sometimes. Who's the good citizen now?

The closest thing they've got is Mike Bibby, and he's rumored to be quite the playa, and they were shopping him before the trade deadline anyhow.

Anyhow, Artest is on indefinite suspension. I see a fire sale trade in his future, and we probably won't see him at Arco again playing for the home team.

5. Artest is a troubled man
He has shown a CLEAR pattern of mental instablity. I hope he gets help before things get worse. I am also very happy the Pacers traded him. He is an outstanding ball player when he is in control of himself.
