Crist delays vote on restoring rights to felons
Gov. Charlie Crist postponed a decision on the automatic restoration of civil rights for felons.

a vote on automatic rights restoration

Chairing his first meeting of the state clemency board on Thursday, Gov. Charlie Crist denied the restoration of voting rights for dozens of felons, approved the rights for several others and postponed a vote on a plan to automatically restore the rights for many more in the future.

Crist campaigned last year on the promise that he would move to end the Jim Crow-era law that disenfranchises felons from voting, serving on a jury or obtaining many work-related permits.

But the governor needs a consensus on the four-member clemency board and he was unable to forge the compromise he had sought without isolating a fellow Republican, Attorney General Bill McCollum, as the lone ''no'' vote.

''Obviously, I favor the restoration of civil rights and I am optimistic we will be able to get to that point, but I want to build a consensus before we go there,'' he said after the four-hour meeting.

Don't forget McCollum was an impeachment manager during Bill Clinton's Presidency.

1. So, protecting the feelings of a fellow republican
is more important than restoring the rights of thousands of citizens? :wtf:

7. Apparently so....And apparently Crist is more of a typical Repuke than I had hoped
I bet this dies.

No way the Attorney General is ever gonna change his mind.

Oh well, flash in the pan. Repukes are still batting 1,000 at being do-nothing, politics over substance assholes.

3. Beautiful! So many already, and that doesn't of course, include the Repub. pedophiles & other pervs.
If there's any justice, it'll be getting even more crowded in there!

That top photo's rare & quite valuable in the Republican criminal card collector's series. :woohoo:

6. Ha ha ha. Great list! As long as it is, there are still Republicans not listed yet.
The ultimate Republican list is going to be heeeeeeyouuuuuge, without a doubt!

It takes a twisted person to BECOME a Republican these days.

8. McCollum is a true Neanderthal Repug
I may be insulting Neanderthals here because I'm not sure that McCollum has figured out how to walk upright yet. I wish we had recruited someone better than Campbell to run against him, so we wouldn't be facing this problem. I hope they bring this up in the next election.

10. Remember this leftover POS from the Clinton impeachment???
This was the only job he could get elected to (after many failed attempts to win office)...
