Route clearance patrol struck by roadside bomb

BAGHDAD – Soldiers from Multi-National Division - Baghdad have successfully found
173 weapons caches and 372 improvised explosive devices in the last 30 days, further
ensuring the security of Iraqi citizens.
On March 2, an MND-B unit was conducting a route clearance patrol in order to
free commonly traveled route of improvised explosive devices northwest of the Iraqi
capital when they were struck by a roadside bomb, killing two Soldiers and one
interpreter. Another Soldier was injured in the incident.
The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of
kin.
