Salvador Deps Killed in Guatemala
Guatemala, Feb 20 (Prensa Latina) Huge turmoil has been caused here over the killing of three Salvadorian legislators from the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN), who had traveled to the Guatemalan capital to attend a meeting of the regional group.
The victims are Eduardo D'aubisson, William Pichinte, and Jose Ramon Gonzalez, from the ruling Nationalist Republican Alliance.
The charred bodies of the deputies and the driver of the car in which they were traveling were found last night in a farm of El Jocotillo village, in Villa Canales municipality, Guatemala department.
The burnt vehicle was far off the main road, and also had several gunshots. Two of the bodies were inside the car and the others on the ground.
Guatemalan Government Minister Carlos Vielmann, and Salvadorian police chief Rodrigo Avila said at the crime scene it was not a common felony, due to the brutality with which it was committed.
Vielmann announced a special team will be created to thoroughly investigate all the movements of the deputies since their arrival in the country.
The victims relatives informed the legislators had left for Guatemala Monday morning, but never got to their hotel.
