Gunman kills Pakistani minister
A gunman has shot dead a provincial minister in Pakistan just as she was about to address a political meeting.

Zill-e-Huma was social welfare minister in Punjab and an active member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League.
...
According to the police, he told them during questioning that women occupying senior positions was against the rule of God, and was an attempt to subjugate men.

Police say that so far they have not established that he is linked to any religious or extremist group.

The lethal combination of fanatical religion, misogyny, and a psychopath.

6. Ummm....there were several groups out there
condemning and taking a stand against the Taliban due to its horrible treatment of women, well before 9/11. The problem is, women's rights groups here at home have little influence on our own policy at the moment - and have even less on the internal affairs of other nations. That doesn't mean they shouldn't take a stand, but ultimately there must be radical changes in cultures where second class status for women is accepted as the norm...

<snip>
the gunman had been implicated in six previous murder cases but had never been convicted because of a lack of evidence.

Were the six others against "uppity women" ?

What would they do if Hillary became "ruler" of the US?
Treat her like Rice?
