Bush to Hold News Conference at 11 a.m. Amid Iraq Resolutions
Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. President George W. Bush will hold his first press conference of the new year at 11 a.m. today at the White House, the press office announced.

Iraq is likely to be the top issue, as Bush presses on with his plan to increase U.S. troops by 21,500 while congressional leaders in Congress, Democrats and some Republicans, debate resolutions disapproving the escalation.

2. Egomania ... I can't wait because he stumbles over his words and ...
despite the fact that he will be medicated with anti-anxiety pills and have the ear-piece firmly in place, he's slowly de-compensating and losing composure.

Dear Leader demands a press conference? BRING IT ON! :P

He will say "Give General Peach's Plan a chance for Suck-Cess."

At least once he will say the term "Herd Werk."

Anyone else care to venture what our Dear leader will say?

11. Declare he has PROOF that Iran is aiding the insurgents in Iraq and state he will stop them.
No option is off the table.

:eyes:

His attempts to trick Iran into attacking haven't worked yet so he has to keep up the pressure, after all - a shiny new war might improve his ratings.

:puke:

14. Exactly. The lower his ratings go, the more I worry that he will
stage an action that will result in an attack against Iran. He is a desperate man and will try desperate measures to save his legacy.

20. Hi legacy is dirt. How does one save that?

Even if he were to attack Iran (since he can't invade it without a draft; and it would take some time to get the necessary troop levels up) now it would only highlight that he is crazy, and America has had enough of him.

I don't believe that his poll numbers would go up. Many Americans hate him. The only thing that might go up is his chances of having impeachment brought against him, or perhaps him having a CIA induced accident.

22. I agree with everything you say and it is a reasonable argument.
However, Bush doesn't listen to reason. His poll numbers went up dramatically when he invaded Iraq, maybe he thinks they will do the same if he attacks Iran. The WOT has been very good to Bush in the past and has allowed him to exercise great power over Americans in general and the troops in particular. I personally think the man is delusional and, therefore, dangerous in a position of power.

I believe that America is fed up with the fakie Texan.

12. Wonder if he is going to follow the GOP daily memo meme
sent out by John Shadegg and Peter Hoekstra.

The debate should not be about the surge or its details. This debate should not even be about the Iraq war to date. . . in a debate on the surge or the current situation in Iraq, we lose

So perhaps they are bringing Bush out to talk up the Christian Crusade against Muslims.

Bush to hold news conference today

By TERENCE HUNT, AP White House Correspondent 1 hour, 2 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Questions about
Iraq,
Iran and Russia await
President Bush as he prepares to hold his first news conference since Dec. 20.

The White House announced that Bush would meet with reporters Wednesday in the East Room at 11 a.m. EST.

The news conference came as the House is in the midst of a debate on a nonbinding resolution expressing disapproval of Bush's decision to send 21,500 additional troops to Iraq.

Democrats have assailed Bush's policy in Iraq as a catastrophic failure that has cost more than 3,100 U.S. troops their lives. "No more blank checks," declared Speaker Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record).

23. I the great Physic predict that....
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 10:31 AM by Selteri
He will flounder words.

He will lower the collective IQ of America with the damage from trying to think at his level.

He will either infer this is a personal attack, an attack against the troops and their moral and they need to offer an alternative plan to his that they aren't doing even though it is an outright lie, having multiple solutions being offered.

On Edit - What I pray he won't try to do is use this conference as a way to warmonger against Iran and show more that he's just a bully who has a big gang behind him.

24. A real news conference? With more than three questions?
That would be news! I'm guessing he'll issue a prepared statement, take three questions from the successors to "Jeff Gannon," then skedaddle off because lunch is fixin' to get ready. Nobody will ask about Pentagon waste, military atrocities in Iraq, or the hasty replacement of so many U.S. Attorneys around the country.
