15 insurgents killed, 27 arrested in Iraq raids

BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Fifteen insurgents were killed and 27 others were arrested on Wednesday in coalition operations targeting al Qaeda in Iraq, the U.S. military said.

The killings occurred during an operation in Arab Jabour, on the outskirts of Baghdad city targeting al Qaeda insurgents and "an associated VBIED/IED network."

Based on intelligence reports, this network is responsible for a large and devastating number of VBIED attacks in the Baghdad area," the military said.
