Al-Qaida-linked group posts copter video

By ROBERT H. REID, Associated Press Writer 51 minutes ago

BAGHDAD, Iraq - An insurgent group linked to al-Qaida posted a Web video Friday showing what it said was the downing of a U.S. military helicopter this week. Seven Americans were killed in the crash.

The U.S. military has said it did not believe the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter was shot down in the crash Wednesday northwest of Baghdad.

But a U.S. official, who was not authorized to address the topic publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, said "the video appears to be legitimate" — meaning that it shows a Sea Knight crashing.

The two-minute video — which says it shows the "downing of U.S. aircraft on Feb. 7" — shows a helicopter that appears to be a Sea Knight flying. An object trailing smoke is seen in the sky nearby, and then the craft bursts into orange and red flames, with a spray of debris emerging from it.

2. Pretty obvious that it was
Why does the US military insist on lying even when it doesn't have to?

Is it pathological?

Why deny this chopper wasn't shot down?

The video shows pretty clearly that the other side now has SA-17s or similar Anti-aircraft weapons.

3. Why is it
that every group taking potshots at our troops is "Al-Qaida-linked"? The same reason that every dead Iraqi is a "suspected" insurgent:sarcasm: :sarcasm:
I just love the semantics of the "news" media.

5. Well North Korea is starting to feel left out, can't we say Iran got missiles from them?
Wouldn't it get the neocons all a quiver to have war going on four fronts.. Wow just imagine how much they would make....They could stand neck deep in all their money. Oops forgot with twelve billion in cold hard untraceable cash they already can do that... Oh well more the merrier....
