FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RELEASE No. 20070206-15
Feb. 6, 2007

Insurgents target MND-B security post
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldier died when insurgents targeted a
security post southwest of the Iraqi capital Feb. 6.

While manning designated battle positions in the area, the unit received small arms fire,
killing one Soldier.

Since the beginning of the New Year, this unit has successfully found numerous improvised
explosive devises, further clearing the area of insurgent dangers targeting Iraqi security
forces, coalition forces and Iraqi civilians. Security posts set up in the region, a former
safe haven for insurgent activity, has helped curtail violent attacks in the area and slow
the flow of weapons and munitions into the Iraqi capital.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
