1. Man this stinks. I thought that the "resistance" had changed tactics to
one of attacking the occupiers (and our helicopters) instead of the civilians who are occupied. What did the civilians ever to these guys to make them so mad at them? Just living in Iraq makes you guilty of some crime worthy of death?

2. What did our troops ever do to make the terrorists mad at THEM?
From the very beginning, the people who have been blowing up both our troops and the Iraqis have never been "freedom fighters"; they're just murderers who enjoy killing other human beings. Our mistake (or rather, Bush's criminal mistake) was invading Iraq in the first place, which opened a Pandora's Box for these killers to run around and kill at their leisure.

6. I can understand that at least some of the "insurgents" might really be
resisting an invasion and occupation. In that light one could justify attacking occupation troops just like the French resistance attacked German occupation troops.

But you are right. When one sees that the vast majority of the deaths are intentionally inflicted on civilian shoppers, students, job seekers, etc., you are led to the conclusion that the attackers "have never been "freedom fighters"; they're just murderers who enjoy killing other human beings."

5. seriously....these bombings get worse everyday...
it use to be that 5-10 people would be killed in these attacks. The last couple of bombings have had casualties up over 30 and 40 people.

This will all be blamed on the Dems. Either we're signaling the insurgence to attack more by wanting to get out of Iraq...you know that one! Or we're slowing down the Troop 'surge' which may have prevented such attacks....yeah right!!!!

9. Baghdad truck bomb kills 95
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 10:36 AM by cal04
A truck bomb killed at least 95 people and wounded 200 in a busy market in central Baghdad on Saturday, police sources said.

The blast in Sadriya, an area where Shi'ite Kurds predominate, sent plumes of black smoke into the air. The district has suffered a number of large bombings in recent months.

A day after a U.S. intelligence report said elements of the conflict in Iraq could be called civil war, the country's top Shi'ite cleric renewed an appeal for Iraqis to reject violence.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A truck bomb killed at least 95 people and wounded 200 in a busy market in central Baghdad on Saturday, police sources said.

Fearful residents rushed home and shops shut early in anticipation of more attacks, while police imposed a vehicle curfew. A police source said all entrances to Kirkuk were closed to prevent more car bombings.

Further north, another curfew was imposed in Mosul, Iraq's third largest city, after clashes between insurgents and police erupted in several neighborhoods. A police source said the militants planned to take over the city.

Violence continued despite the curfew. A car bomb hit an ambulance and killed an injured woman who was being taken to hospital and six mortar bombs struck the offices of the state-funded Iraqiya television.

Baghdad truck bomb kills 105

By Mussab Al-Khairalla

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A truck bomb killed 105 people and wounded 225 in a busy market
in central Baghdad on Saturday in one of the deadliest single bombings in the capital
since the 2003 U.S.-led war.

The blast in Sadriya, which shattered vegetable and meat stalls, occurred a day after a
U.S. intelligence report said elements of the conflict in Iraq could be called civil war.

The casualties swamped the capital's hospitals. There were chaotic scenes at Ibn al-Nafis
hospital in central Karrada, where the hallways overflowed with wounded on trollies and
relatives and friends screaming for help.
