U.S. Marine killed in Saturday fighting in Iraq's Anbar province
BAGHDAD (CNN) -- A U.S. Marine died Saturday from wounds sustained during fighting in Iraq's volatile Anbar province, the U.S. military announced Sunday.

The Marine was assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

With the death, 3,074 U.S. military personnel have died in the Iraqi war. (Posted, 8:13 a.m.)

U.S. soldier killed in Saturday bombing in Baghdad
BAGHDAD (CNN) -- A U.S. soldier died Saturday when a roadside bomb detonated near his vehicle in northern Baghdad, the military announced Sunday.

The soldier was a member of the 89th Military Police Brigade.

With the death, 3,075 U.S. military personnel have died in the Iraqi war.

There have been 75 U.S. military deaths this month. (Posted 9:35 a.m.)

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Two mortars slammed into a girls school in a mainly Sunni neighborhood in western Baghdad Sunday morning, with one girl reported killed and nearly two dozen wounded.

Several projectiles exploded in the courtyard of the al-Khulood school. Video from the scene showed blood spread across stone steps. The windows of classrooms were shattered.

Other developments

# Three U.S. soldiers conducting a security escort mission were killed and one wounded Saturday in a bombing north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. Earlier Saturday, the military reported four other U.S. troop deaths -- two in Diyala province on Friday and two in eastern Baghdad on Thursday. The number of U.S. military deaths in the Iraq war now stands at 3,067. Seven civilian contractors for the military also have been killed.

7. here's the link..looks like 3 deaths have been announced today :(

U.S. military reports 3 U.S. troops killed Saturday in Iraq
BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Two U.S. soldiers and a Marine were killed Saturday in Iraq, the U.S. military said Sunday.

The two soldiers were killed in separate roadside bomb attacks north of the Iraqi capital, the military said.

One soldier, a member of the 89th Military Police Brigade, died Saturday when a roadside bomb detonated near his vehicle in northern Baghdad.

In a separate attack, a roadside bomb detonated near a Multi-National Division-Baghdad patrol north of Baghdad, killing one soldier on Saturday.

According to the military, the unit was conducting a "route reconnaissance" when the improvised explosive device detonated.

A U.S. Marine was killed in fighting Saturday in Anbar province, the military said.

With the deaths, 3,076 U.S. military personnel have died in the Iraqi war.
