Burt Bacharach's daughter commits suicide

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The only child of pop songwriter Burt Bacharach and actress Angie Dickinson has committed suicide after a lifetime struggling with a form of autism, a spokeswoman for the former couple said on Friday.

Nikki Bacharach, 40, died "quietly and peacefully" at her home in the northern Los Angeles municipality of Thousand Oaks on Thursday night, a statement said.

and it was touch and go at the beginning.

How very sad.

5. That's so sad.
I've always loved Angie Dickinson, too, so this makes me especially sad.

Suicide is so hard on family and friends. One of my closest friends committed suicide eight years ago. Got sick of struggling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

For the record, I live in Thousand Oaks. It is not a municipality of Los Angeles. It is in Ventura County.

9. sight is real important to me, but i hope that if mine fails me,
there will be more. afterall, we have no idea what's up after this. i don't think i'd be ready to check out even though one of my favorite things in the world is reading.

11. well it depends on the person
i'm not a music person and i hate noise, everything that i love depends on the visual, we have a pretty good idea of what's up after this -- the same dark and the silence that came before this

i won't judge the lady for saying enough when i might have done the same in her shoes

you are the more courageous person tho -- and i like your handle "notgivingup" but some of us just aren't as strong

10. Don't blame the autism, blame the discrimination
Autism does not cause suffering to those who have it, but discrimination and lack of accommodations do.

15. Growing up in the Hollywood scene couldn't have helped either
It's all about image and first impressions. Those kids have it rough even when they don't have other issues to contend with.
