Gov. Bush leaves Capitol for the last time
TALLAHASSEE - (AP) -- With the family cat in tow, Gov. Jeb Bush headed Friday for the next chapter of his life, leaving his Capitol office for a holiday trip to South Florida with no plans to return to the office.

Gov.-elect Charlie Crist takes over Jan. 2. Bush won't return to Tallahassee until that day, when he will attend Crist's inauguration.

At the airport, Bush was joined by his wife Columba, who carried the family cat, Sugar, onto a state plane.

Bush, who plans to live in Coral Gables, said he's not sure exactly what is next.

''We're in the preface of the new book in my life and I just don't know yet,'' Bush told reporters before boarding the plane. ``I'm going to take some time off, hopefully do a little fishing, golfing, resting, reading, exercising. And I've got to make a living, so I'll figure it out probably in January.''

3. "got to make a living" HAH!
Imagine that- a bush family member having to make a living?

Why do I get the feeling that he's going to write a book? Maybe it can be a co-authored one with K. Harris all about having no political future...

4. "No futuro?" rest assured that the votes will SURGE in his favor whenever he decides it is time for
him to grab the oval office. Poppy's Diebodl machines will make sure there is plenty of vote surge in favor of jeb bush when the time comes ... never underestimate the lying power of the bushes.

9. Well, let's not be caught by surprise then. Let's make sure we keep an eye
on him. As long as there are ANY bushes walking the earth, and there's even a hint of interest in the "family franchise," I would be on my guard, politically. Eleanor Clift wrote an interesting commentary on it, but I doubt we're completely out of danger.

Remember the wise words of "Mad-Eye Moody," the Hogwarts professor who taught Harry Potter and the other students the "Defense Against the Dark Arts" class. Remember his words: "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!"

Those words will ALWAYS be EXTREMELY significant as long as there are bushes lurking around the political scene.

It's not Social Security. It's not food stamps. It's not welfare. It's not disability. It's not unemployment compensation. NONE of those. It's actually sort of a two-headed beast. One head is the republi-CON party in general - with its attitude that the White House and all the power and all the marbles are somehow ALL exclusively THEIR divine birthright. The other head is specifically the bush clan. The bushies have somehow gotten it under their skin that THEY are the rightful heirs and owners of the plantation, and that they have a divine right to govern and to lead.

I've posted this before, but I still believe it firmly.

I think part of the reason the old fart was sobbing was a specific subset of the "family franchise." It wasn't just that he wanted his son jeb to ascend to the White House - a deal that was screwed by junior's near-apocalyptic fuck-ups, as Eleanor Clift and many others, INCLUDING MANY OF US HERE, strongly suspect. I think it goes a little deeper than that. I think daddy fancied HIS family as being the New American Royal Family. Remember, he came to power with what MANY pundits and political observers regarded as a world-class pedigree - a better resume to qualify him for the White House than perhaps anybody else who'd ever run for it. He'd been in Congress, he'd been UN ambassador, China ambassador, CIA director, VP. And he was the son of a senator and several other high-rolling types and patrician power/financial elites. I bet he looked on the Kennedys with disdain and envy, thinking HIS family was better. HIS family had more royal chops. Hell, there was even talk more than a decade ago that the bushes were distantly related to Princess Diana - hey, look, ma, REAL royalty!!! He fancied himself a Connecticut blue-blood, with a HUGE nobless oblige complex, and all kinds of lofty expectations and feelings of entitlement because he was so well-born. He probably deep-down GRIEVOUSLY resented the Kennedys ascent to power, their widely-hailed monopoly on class and style and glamour and breeding. ESPECIALLY breeding. george senior, I'll bet you hard money, thought - HEY! LOOK OVER HERE! I'VE GOT YER BREEDING RIGHT HERE!!! ME!!! ME!!! PICK ME!!!! Like the Donkey in "Shrek."

He wanted HIS family to be the new American Royal Family, and once they clinched the White House a second time, with asshole-boy, he thought that was set in stone. And jeb would be next, and then we'd bring on the younger generation - maybe george p. bush or one of jebbie's sons. I doubt however, that he was looking at Drunk or Disorderly (the bush twins - what? Maybe start calling 'em Paris and Britney?) as having any serious potential beyond marrying well - and presumably setting themselves up to be somebody's First Lady. But I'd bet you hard money that daddy fancied HIS family as the NEW and IMPROVED Kennedys. The Kennedys didn't deserve it! They had no business aspiring toward what rightfully belonged to the bushes. Damned cheesy Irishmen. Who did they think they were, anyway, lousy buncha low-life rum-runners! Probably drunks, 'eh? They've got no business running the country, or THINKING they can run the country, when WE PATRICIAN bUSHES were damned-near divinely anointed for it, and to the manor born. Doesn't anybody realize WHO THEY ARE - and what they RIGHTFULLY DESERVE??? I'm SURE that's what the old man is convinced of, deep-down. And he'll NEVER admit it, either.

And junior fucked it ALL up. Probably forever. HOPEFULLY forever!

...meaning when he has to decide which of the offers from corporations to accept. Sounds as phony as a monologue from "Singin' in the Rain":

"Finally we decided to come to sunny California. We were stranded --
(seen: Totally Unemployed/Broke, sheltering from the rain)
We were resting up, when the movie studio offers started pouring in. We sorted them out and decided to favor Monumental Pictures."
(translation: they took the lowest job they could get anywhere, as it was the only one offered.)

Jeb knows there is NO Presidential run in the cards for him this election cycle, if ever. He'll take whatever perk-laden cushy gig he can get for now (surely there's still SOMEONE out there that owes favors to these bastards) but I have no worries about him having to "make a living."
