(Senator) Clinton Opposes U.S. Troop Surge In Iraq
http://wcbstv.com/local/local_story_352095402.html

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday she would not support a short-term increase in American troop presence in Iraq unless it was part of a more comprehensive plan to stabilize the country.

CBS 2 has been following Clinton's potential and on Monday, Clinton offered the broadest indication yet that she was close to a decision on whether to enter the 2008 Democratic presidential field.

"I want to make sure the decision is right for me, my family, my party and my country," Clinton said during an interview. She appeared on the show to promote the re-release of her best-selling book on child rearing, "It Takes a Village."

The former first lady said she knew more than any other potential candidate how hard it was to be president. "I saw it in an up close and personal way for eight years," she said. She reiterated that she would disclose her decision until sometime after the first of the year.

8. No, this is a Clintonian sleight-of-hand
making you think she is against something that she is really not opposed to.

How crafty has the old "Golwater girl" gotten, or was that personality attribute always present but we missed it because we were angry at the rightwing for attacking her.

3. Don't you know that Laura knows how hard it is to be president
all those pesky liberals and evil reporters wanting my husband to be sober and honest all the time. Its hard work.

13. The ISG does not recommend this
They said, in background, that they could support a short surge, as part of the overall implementation of ALL 79 recommendations.
The "surge" is contingent on the US commander in Iraq requesting it. The Joint Chiefs are already making it known that they think it's pointless.
Bush and his enablers can't ignore the 79 recommendations, pull one background sentence out of context and then claim they're implementing the ISG recommendations.

Leave it to the neocon dead-enders to find the one sentence in a comprehensive report and exploit it for domestic political benefit.

6. Hillary has so many caveats on her poll-driven "opposition" to a troop surge
that it is essentially meaningless.

Biden was more forthright than Hillary, and Colin Powell came out and said it was not a good idea at all!

Hey Hil, it is time to end this war, not escalate it!

11. It is time to end this war, not escalate it!,,,,Unless, there is a
Comprehensive Plan. Would that plan be something like the IWR, Hillary?
