Survey indicates Iraqis in despair (90% say Iraq worse off now than under Saddam)
More than 90 per cent of Iraqis believe the country is worse off now than before the war in 2003, according to new research obtained by Al Jazeera.

A survey of 2,000 people by the Iraq Centre for Research and Strategic Studies found that 95 per cent of respondents believe the security situation has deteriorated since the arrival of US forces.

The findings follow a poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal that found that less than one in four Americans approves of George Bush's administration’s handling of the conflict in Iraq.

It also comes as armed men attacked the convoy of Iraq's vice-president and as up to 30 Iraqis were kidnapped in Baghdad on Thursday.

2. Typical Repubiclan Delusion On How Improved IRAQ Is...
Uh, Well surely they must be better off--after all, there's fewer mouths to feed (owing largely to us)(referencing the Republicrap "more to go around theory of warfare", a spinoff of "trickle down economics"). Besides, haven't we brought those bakward Muslims the 'great white way' (American Exceptionalism; but they don't seem to be buying it) including Crapitalism (yessiree, "private" oil contracts), Chrimstianity (they don't seem receptive?) & Democracy (dysfunctional, Republicanism-infected "puppet" Democracy); not to mention hunnerds of billions of dollars worth of investment (military invasion/occupation doesn't really count)... Yep, muuch better off; they just aren't smart enough to realize it.

Stumpid Republicrams anyway...

6. But they must be thrilled that we proved there were no dangerous WMDs to make their lives unbearable
I mean, that's worth something, right? At least we've proved they don't have to face the threat of unexploded WMDs waiting around in missile silos and unknown places like we do here in the good ol' USA. We made their country safer than ours!

do i have to use the dripping with sarcasm emoticon?

12. And Howard Dean was excoriated by the press, BushCo,
Edited on Sat Dec-16-06 10:41 AM by tblue37
and cowards in the Democratic party for daring to say that the world was no safer just because Saddam had been dragged from a spider hole.

I think one of the things that upsets me most is that no one with national exposure is acknowledging the absolute rightness of Dean's remarks or the prescience of all the people (including those of us here on DU) who said things would turn out exactly the way they have turned out.

We are still considered the loony "radical fringe," even though we were right and they were--insane.

10. WHAT??????
I'll just bet they didn't interview all those people with the purple fingers. Where are they now? Ask them. They were giddy with excitement when their fingers were purple.

Or was that just BushCo and rightwing propaganda?
