S Korea rejects second batch of US beef
December 03, 2006
SEOUL: South Korea rejected a second batch of US beef, recently arrived from Nebraska, after bone fragments were found in a package, the agriculture ministry said on Friday.

The second rejection by the country, which was once the third-largest market for US beef, is likely to up US/South Korean tensions ahead of another round of free trade talks.

Last week, South Korea suspended imports from a US packing plant in Kansas after finding a bone chip in the first shipment since the country lifted a three-year ban on US beef.

<snip> The ministry said all of the beef will be disposed of or returned to the United States and beef shipments from the plant will be suspended temporarily.

1. We can't even export beef anymore?
It's all falling apart rather quickly, isn't it?

2. With Monsanto cramming their Frankenfoods
down the country's throat, we won't be able to export any foodstuffs pretty soon, and that will be the end of it.

It's not like we make much any more. We've got lumber and food and minerals. That's it.

3. When do we declare war at the request of the meat industries?
Or do we hold out for more "campaign contributions"?

4. When do we start kicking the a** of corporate America
and start controlling them? This country will keep letting corps run the place and the rest of the world will say NO THANK YOU and then the idiots will wonder what happened or try to force trade through the World Trade Organization. And the food that is coming into this country scares me. How do we know where it was grown or how it was grown? The spinach deal in our own country should have rung bells in the society. But apparently large coporations can kill and maime without too much worry. Look how big business kills miners...rules not being enforced. That is only ONE example.
