CNN Breaking News: F-18 Crashes in CA

Somewhere near Marine Corp Air Station in Miramar, California.

Search under way for pilot who is said to have ejected, according to Calif News Service.

Crash apparently away from residential areas.

Now reporting that the pilot's been recovered.

Also saying it was a routine training mission w/ single seat aircraft.

Judging from the video of the crash site, there's not much left of the plane but smoldering pieces.

How many planes are you allowed to crash before they assign you to loading the fuel?

3. my office is two exits north of mcas miramar..
I just took a peek out the 5th floor window and didn't see any smoke.

5. I've spent the night camped-out on that beach.
I woke-up in the morning to watch a line of dolphins swimming across the horizon.

7. I think the beach was called "Silver Strand."
We needed special permission to camp there.
