3. And how many wounded? I heard that a guard unit here in
Indianapolis will be called up in a few weeks. All for a fake war by a fake president.

Thanks for doing these posts, Don. Our local rag, the Indianpolis Star rarely even puts these death on the front page anymore, they are usually on pages 3,4,or 5 now. It seems as if all the flag waving patriots quit caring once they are in body bags. I fear Americans have become desensitized to a few soldiers dying every day.

I don't know why people don't seem to care about these deaths, look at the posts to this thread, it seems as if even DUers can't take the time to respond.

Such a tragedy, this is a dark, dark period in the history of the world.

After the first rash of 4 or 5 reports we don't hear no more about it for some reason?

4. very sad
I am also very concerned about the number of soldiers injured.
There doesn't even seem to be a count of seriously injured soldiers.

11. 452 possibly 453
Another vehicle "accident" overnight one soldier drowned one still missing, I'm presuming drowned as well. We don't know the true numbers, we'll never know the true numbers, for every kia or wia, there are those behind to take the brunt.
We don't count if someone's loved one commits suicide, we don't count if a soldier returns and goes apeshit and shoots up someplace. We don't count the number of Iraqi dead and wounded.
Why? I don't know.
Maybe when people start noticing that things aren't all sunshine and roses, they'll start to question just what in the hell are we doing. It's very disheartning to read daily about the carnage we've caused around the world, mostly to prove that gw* has a bigger one than poppy.
This scares me, knowing that people are'nt paying attention, this is going to bite us hard, and because nobody has paid attention the morons in charge are going to scream for more blood, more treasure, and people will go right along with them.
I get the sick feeling that w* and it's henchmen have something terrible planned for us in the near future, something to make the wtc attack look like a sunday school picnic, and they're going to use it to launch yet another part of their twisted vision of the world.

13. Sydney Schanberg
writing in this weeks Village Voice:

"In the eight months and three weeks of the Iraq war, roughly 450 American soldiers have died, 69 percent in battle and the rest in "non-hostile" incidents that include friendly fire, suicides, and vehicle accidents. Another 2,500 have been wounded, all but 360 in combat. An additional few thousand have been MedEvacked out of the country for treatment of illnesses; more than 500 in this group were listed as psychiatric cases related to "combat stress, depression, anxiety."
