Britain and US pressed on Iraq arms hunt (by France and - Russia)

I'm seeing Russia in a lot of stories lately.

snip:

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - The United States and Britain came under pressure at the UN Security Council to hand over confidential information on the search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (news - web sites).

UN sources said fellow permanent council members France and Russia led the charge for the handover of the unseen parts of the interim report from the Iraq Survey Group, a team of around 1,400 experts coming the country for WMD.

Controversy has raged over whether the Baghdad regime had WMD, cited as a main reason for the US-led war that ousted Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) earlier this year. The Iraq group's report in October said none had been found so far.

The two countries told the closed-door meeting that they want the report to be handed over to UNMOVIC, the UN arms team which monitored Baghdad's weapons programmes but left before the start of the war in March.
---------------

I pray the perps of this continuing and fruadulent and unjustified tragedy of a murderous invasion (armed robbery) of another nation will be held accountable for thier crimes. They may yet pay for thier lies.

Top rated story at Yahoo btw, surprised it hadn't been posted here yet.

1. I share your wish
but am not optimistic. Who would prosecute Bush? and the rest of them? There is no court that can do that to any of them. The only thing that could or may happen to them is that some unseen force causes them to meet their karma. Other than that, there is absolutely no one that could prosecute them, as they most certainly deserve, for the murders they perpetrated on the Iraqi people. NO ONE. And that is certainly a tragedy. They will get away, literally, with murder. Not only that but they continue with their crimes against the Iraqi people, as well as the Afganistan people now. Shameful , and all for nothing but his own greed for power, status and money.

2. Afghan Massacre: The Convoy of Death
Saw this over the weekend on link tv (Dish Network). There was also something on CNN, but it didn't provide this information. Some interviewed on CNN talked about the *cool* stuff they did. Article about documentary follows clip from Link TV.

Afghan Massacre

In November, 2001, during the U.S. campaign in Afghanistan, thousands of Taliban prisoners were killed while traveling in sealed containers on their way from Kunduz to a prison at Sheberghan. The bodies of the dead and some who survived were then buried in a mass grave at nearby Dasht-i-Leile. U.S. special forces were closely involved and in charge at the time. Were they involved in a war crime? The Pentagon denies the events. The eyewitnesses tell what happened. WorldLink TV Spotlight is hosted by Mark Hertsgaard.

Documentary alleges U.S. complicity in Afghan massacre

A controversial documentary film, which aired in full for the first time last week on German television, charges that U.S. soldiers were complicit in the mass killing and burial of thousands of Afghan prisoners of war more than a year ago.

``Afghan Massacre: The Convoy of Death,'' directed by former BBC producer and Scottish filmmaker Jamie Doran, presents harrowing footage of human bones protruding from desert mass graves and interviews with eyewitnesses who say the mass killing and summary executions were committed under the watch of U.S. forces.

Washington officials expressed surprise and concern when they learned that the German television network, ARD, had agreed to show the inflammatory film. ``We are upset that a reputable television station would display a documentary that is shown to be inaccurate,'' State Department spokesman Larry Schwartz said.

Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. David Lapan told the Mercury News that an internal military review found filmmaker Doran's allegations inconclusive. ``We queried all of our teams in that area. None of our servicemen witnessed nor heard of any atrocities committed. There is no need for us to investigate this further,'' he said.

6. They found a tool against America
For those that haven't been paying attention the EU found a tool, the threatened placement of tarrifs on American products brought desirable results. Now there is talk for using it eleswhere, America may be the stongest militarily but without the ability to sell it's products it hurts. These methods have been used in the past to encourage countries that don't follow internatinal law, and the time may be coming when the world uses it against America becasue the bush team refuses to follow internation law.
