Sharon vows to defend barrier at The Hague
<clips>

Israel has said it will defend itself in the International Court in The Hague against accusations that its controversial barrier through the West Bank violates international law.

The Israeli Government said it would participate in the case after the United Nations General Assembly voted on Monday to refer the issue to the International Court. The case is likely to spotlight Israel's policy of settlement and occupation in the territories it has controlled since the 1967 Arab-Israeli War.

Australia was one of eight countries to oppose the motion, joining the US, Ethiopia, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and Israel. Another 74, including the European Union states, abstained. Ninety countries, including many Arab and developing world states, voted in favour.

In October a previous resolution condemning the barrier was passed by a much greater margin. Australia abstained. But many countries said they were worried about the precedent of referring such a political dispute to the court.

4. You beat me to it
It's not the wall he should be defending in the Hague, but his own freedom.

Oh well, we all know there are a couple of countries who are entirely beyond international law.

5. Welcome to Totalitarian Israel....
Might as well start up the propoganda machine again.

Too many ultra-radical people are in charge of countries today. I hope the citizens of Israel will make a better selection in their next election....
