1. I am from California, and am pretty ashamed at the stupidity
of the people here, especially labor and the unions

Unfortunately phil ran a terrible campaign, and his opponent in the primary would have run a better race

3. Agreed about running a horrible campaign.
After the primaries were over, I didn't see one single Angelides ad until just this past weekend. Good candidate, but truly one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen. Or should I say didn't see....

5. I'm in L.A. and saw a lot of his ads
probably equal to the amount of Arnie ads - they weren't very good though, IMHO.

10. I'm in San Diego.
Didn't see anything other than the ad that showed Arnie shouting "George W. Bush" over and over.
Effective ad, but it wasn't actually an Angelides ad and never mentioned Phil once.

With '60s music.

20. Blame it on Art Torres, Ca Dem Party Chair,
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 01:29 PM by xxqqqzme
& Fabian Nunez - Neither wanted Phil to win because they have been laying the ground work for their own agendas for Governor in 2010 - that's where that's going - if Phil had won they would have had to postpone their agendas until 2014. I'm started actively campaigning against Torres to retain the CDP chair on Monday - HE HAS TO GO!

But a bright spot is there is still a dem legislature and every one except Insurance Commissioner is a Dem - we now have THE most progressive SoS in the US - Yea Debra Bowen!

2. Rats! Another dim bulb who has risen by cheating...
...overstayed his visa and sculpted his body using steroids. The recall petition was a paid effort with voters such as Mickey Mouse voting for a recall. There was no groundswell to replace Davis, whom we just elected. The recall cost California taxpayers a lot of money (millions).

25. But Pombo Lost!
I just love writing that. More importantly, Bowen won for Sec. of State, and Grarmendi won Lt. Governor, so it's not all that bad. The Sec. State is the important office, since that person controls how we vote.

Personally, I blame Angelides (who? I don't think I heard anything from him since the primary) for giving the election away.

27. He can't turn back for at least a year.
If he does, he could face a recall election. Besides, I think Ahhhnold likes being popular again. I imagine that he will continue to try and out Dem the Dems.

Give us a break, kath.

55 federal electoral votes RELIABLY Democratic for decades.

Two strong Democratic US Senators.

A majority of our Representatives are Democrats.

People making choices that disagree with what you would choose does NOT mean they are stupid. Intelligent, educated, well-meaning people often come to different sets of values, different conclusions about specific issues.

But you have to pay money up front.

Of course the money will be cheerfully refunded if it turns out Schwarzenegger wasn't the actual winner.

It just doesn't feel right, does it?

It's exactly what I expected, and what polls have been indicating for months.

Incumbent Governors rarely lose here, and 2/3 of ours have been Republicans.

After the primary he simply disappeared. It was as though he lost interest.

Arnold is an idiot and could have been beaten. A damn shame.

38. You've got to give him some credit though
he ran a good race. He ran to the middle and started working with the Dems in the legislature from what I heard. Better than getting re-elected by engineering a gay marriage amendment and pandering to fundies or playing Santa Claus with a huge tax cut that f*cks your budget.
