Report: 31 GIs Wounded in Iraq Bomb Blast
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=M5XYIM12TAPSCCRBAEZSFFA?type=topNews&storyID=3959328

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Thirty-one U.S. soldiers were wounded when a car bomb exploded at the entrance to their base in a northern Iraq town Tuesday, the U.S. Army said.
Major Trey Cate of the 101st Airborne said soldiers at the base in Tal Afar, west of the city of Mosul, fired on the vehicle when it failed to stop at an entry point. The vehicle then detonated, he said, adding that it appeared to be a suicide bombing.

41. The Sleep of the Murderous Tyrant...
What, you think Hitler's sleep was interrupted by the faces of his victims?

Pinochet, Marcos, Amin, or any of the others who are like unto our (not my) Emperor Bunnypants*?

No, hell, Pinochet is STILL defending his murderous behavior, as if he did nothing wrong.

One imagines Hitler and Bush, though their crimes are still quite disparate they are the same kind of people, doing the same.

Bush, like all murderous tyrants who don't have to worry about the Will of the People, sleeps very well indeed, IMHO.

3. Just when you thought it was safe...
Here we go again. Been (relatively) quiet the last few days. Couldn't expect that to last, though. I second the sentiment about no one being killed, but with the Pentagon's newest efforts at hiding the casualties I suspect we may never know if they are.

6. You'll Never See . . .
Bushie Boy, the deserter, photographed next to the coffins of American soldiers.

It's really good Bush has no cojones for this, actually, since his presence would dishonor those dead soldier's sacrifice.

I cry for them, every night. I make myself look each of them in the eye, when Jim Lehrer runs their photos. In their last agony, God rest their souls, did any of them realize they were dying because Bushie Boy wanted a lollypop from Cheney and the grownups?

This is shameful. Shameful. God bless those American soldiers. God damn Bush, God damn his soul.

There are all kinds of whores in this world.
Bush sold his soul long ago. Cheney and the Suits own it, thus it still can be damned.

I say damn Momma Bush also. What a bitch she has shown herself to be. So calm, twiddling with her pearls and blathering on about some "wonderful" thing she's experiencing. The one who gave birth to this little nazi and filled their heads full of crap. Talk about a dysfunctional family!

The media simply went into cower mode again and is burying the casualty stories again -- and we all know the wounded stories aren't covered. We're still losing 1+ a day. :sigh:

By saying they are "injured" they can stuff it in the back of the newspaper if and when a few of these men die of their wounds.

9. The injured are downplayed in the media
It's like Bill Maher says, Americans think that dying is the absolute worst thing that can happen. So, by comparison, loosing limbs or becoming paralysed etc. is not even worth mentioning.

How many of us have met or heard of a Vietnam vet who still suffers from the horrors of that war, yet wasn't "wounded"?

Maybe that's why all of the people who misled us into this new Vietnam are "chicken hawks" who have no experience of war.

46. Yes....
Three soldiers were killed from the Stryker unit today that just went over. They have an embedded newspaper reporter who has been writing about them so it makes you feel you know them. It was an 'auto accident' so won't be reported. I think its time for the wives and mothers and fathers of these people to march on the white house and refuse to leave until they come home. I am so angry and sad and hopeless about the whole situation!

Apparently Osama and his bunch are vacating in a big way Afghanistan and going to Iraq because its easier to kill Americans there and they are in a "rising tide of blood" or some such quote.

The shift and the money is going to Iraq. Expect hell to multiply and divide in the next month or so. Sy Hersh on Charlie Rose said that he heard our special ops guys are going over there in a big way now to get the cells.

Civil War. Hell. Bush didn't get a bump off his turkey trot. He will catch hell for the coming armageddon.

29. Andrew Sullivan, are you happy now?
Sullivan is only one of the right wing cranks who have argued that using troops as bait for terror in Iraq is an effective way to guard the Fatherland.

What a despicable war. What a despicable political establishment in this nation when almost no one is seriously talking about withdrawal. And among the Dem contenders, those talking withdrawal haven't a prayer.

God help us.

http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsPackageArticle.jhtml?type=worldNews&storyID=418833§ion=news

TAL AFAR, Iraq (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber has wounded 58 U.S. soldiers and three Iraqis when he charged the gates of an American military base and blew up his explosives-packed vehicle as troops opened fire.

In Baghdad, a blast hit a Sunni mosque after morning prayers on Tuesday, killing three Iraqis and raising the spectre of further sectarian tension adding to instability in Iraq.

Near the flashpoint town of Falluja west of the capital, a U.S. Kiowa helicopter made an emergency landing after coming under fire, an American military spokeswoman said. A Reuters photographer saw the helicopter in flames in a field.

In the Beruit massacre of 244 Marines during the Reagan years, 12,000 pounds of explosives were used. The vehicle only needed to be parked in front of the base to do heavy damage in that one.

42. It's not Amerikans, per se, Concerned Canuck
We, like Argentina under Pinochet or the Phillipines under Marcos, are powerless against a group of tyrants who stole our country in a Bloodless Coup.

Now, yes, as in those regiumes, many Brownshirts and other unthinking types support the Emperor and his seizure of power. many others, captivated by a disinformation infrastructure which makes Hitler and Stalin's propaganda look like a kid with a megaphone, ignore the situation out of disinformation or confusion.

Will the Imperial Subjects of Amerika, like the 1930s Germans before them, eventually turn Bushevik disinformation into self-fufilling prophecy? Maybe.

But we are under the "kinder and gentler" boot of Occuptation Forces who have seized and are busy dismantling those things that made the Old American Republic the Leader of the Free World.

To ignore that is to ignore the truth of the situation in Imperial Amerika and also the Empire's actions while under Tyrant's Boot.

47. At least I still feel sick, rather than NUMB,...
,...like everyone around me who pays little to no attention,...perhaps it is the inattentiveness that makes me feel so sick,...

THESE VALUABLE AMERICAN LIVES SHOULD BE ON THE AMERICAN TELEVISION SCREEN EVERY SINGLE DAY,...but they are diminished by stupid, trivial, crap,...that makes me feel sick, too.

I don't know who to anger against,...the blame spreads too broadly across governmental, corporate, social and cultural lines,...all the way down to little ole' me, even though I disagree. Life is so f*ckin' unfair!!!

Gawd,...with heart that I do have,...it bleeds for all those people who did NOT invite the suffering imposed upon them.
