http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47357-2003Dec8.htmlFORT BENNING, Ga., Dec. 8 -- A Muslim Army chaplain originally detained as part of an espionage probe at the Guantanamo Bay prison appeared in an Army court Monday to face charges of mishandling classified documents, downloading pornography and committing adultery.
Capt. James Yee, 35, was arrested in September and charged with taking government papers without proper security locks out of the Guantanamo base in Cuba, where the United States is keeping about 660 suspected terrorists.
After holding Yee in a Navy brig for more than two months, the Army ordered his release Nov. 25 but added new charges to include accusations that Yee cheated on his wife, stored pornography on a government computer and lied to military personnel.
All are punishable under military law though none is related to spying. After Yee's arrest in September, media reports had quoted defense officials as suggesting he may have been part of a major espionage plot at Guantanamo, where he had contact with detainees.
