FLANDREAU, S.D. - In a verdict that could bring an abrupt end to a three-decade political career, a jury convicted Rep. Bill Janklow of manslaughter Monday for a collision that killed a motorcyclist, rejecting the congressman's claim that he was disoriented by a diabetic reaction.

I really thought he would get off w/ his boo-hoo, diabetic shock, crap defense. Right on to those jurors. It was no question! Now, does he do time? I don't know what sentacing guidlines say, but this man died!!! I say 5yrs in the slammer, min 3yrs especially b/c of his driving record. That tells me that he just had total disregard for the law and b/c of that he killed someone. I bet he gets probation. When does he resign from office and get fat lobbying job from hs repug buddies? He'll get a position on the NTSB. :)
