ABC: Soldiers Say Support the Troops by Bringing Them Home
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/IraqCoverage/story?id=2609936&page=1

They are not pacifists.

They don't represent a political party, and you won't see them at an anti-war rally.

Most say they are proud Americans. They are proud to serve and wear the uniform of the U.S. military.

But they are against the war in Iraq, and they are speaking out about it.

Organizers say it's the first anti-war movement of its kind in the active military since the Vietnam conflict.

"An Appeal for Redress From the War in Iraq" is an Internet initiative to get active-duty military to send this message to political leaders:

2. thinking logically -- and leaving the emotion to the fundies --
is bringing them home not the very best way to support them? . . . THE very, very, very best?? . . .

far superior to ribbons on your car? . . .

letters to the editor? . . .

and arguing with those liberal traitors? . . .

(all while making sure that your kid isn't going to have to go to war, of course) . . .

(Felt it needed to be said, though, for the trolls that might be lurking.)

26. Thanks for the link. It's a very simple and elegant statement.
Simple enough for even Chimpy McFlighsuit and The Smirk to understand.

15. It's up from 65 messages to 650
snip>
The response to the movement has been "amazing," one organizer said. The group had 65 messages to political leaders a few days days ago. Now the group has more than 10 times that number.

18. The only right direction to peace and sanity, which folks like to
call freedom, is to bring the troops home today.

16. It's good to see the troops waking up and questioning the "stay
the course" nonsense.

I hope more will stand up and refuse to fight this illegal, immoral war.

22. What happens if someone gets arrested for signing the petition?
Who knows, they may end up getting discharged from the Armed Forces and won't be able to back to Iraq for the third or fourth time!

21. I love the logical implications of that paragraph.
If you're a pacifist, or you go to anti-war rallies, you must not be a proud American.

Fuck these "journalists."

25. Soldiers Speaking out
the DNC needs to do an Ad with military people suggesting that
we need to pull out. I know they are not allowed to speak out
against bush because it would ruin their careers. I just
wish some would.
