Cocky Democrats measuring drapes, says Bush

Cocky Democrats measuring drapes, says Bush

A DEFIANT George W.Bush yesterday taunted Democrats who, he said, were so sure of victory in the November 7 Congressional elections that they were already "measuring their drapes" for their new offices in the seat of power on Capitol Hill.

...

But Mr Bush said: "In Washington, people have already determined the outcome of the election, like it's over even before the people actually start voting. You know, they got them measuring their drapes."

He was referring to comments made by Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats' leader in the house who is in line to become the next speaker if her party wins power.

In a recent interview, she discussed the prospects of taking control, saying: "I'll have any suite I want."

Mr Bush said: "They're going over to the Capitol and saying well, 'My new office looks beautiful; I think I'm going to have this size drape there or this colour'. But the American people are going to decide, and they're going to decide this race based upon who is best to protect the American people."

31. Ask Pervert JOHN ASHCROFT about DRAPES LOL

No longer will US Attorney General John Ashcroft appear in public with a semi-nude statue towering above him.

The US Justice Department has spent $8,000 on curtains to hide the statue from the cameras.

The female, art-deco "Spirit of Justice" statue, with one breast exposed, is located on the podium in the department's ornate Great Hall where news conferences are often held.

One fully-exposed breast protrudes from her toga garment.

2. The republican message is so crossed up
No one knows what's up and what's down. Bush wants to talk about security and social security. Congresscritters want to talk about war and the economy. Other pukes have resorted to hate, racism, and sexism.

28. Not to mention
I'm having a hard time figuring out whether or not I'm "weak" or "cocky".

Am I a "limp wristed San Francisco liberal who wants to sip wine with Osama", or am I an "attack dog, viciously stomping on Republicans".

Am I a "French surrender, brie eating weakling", or a "rabid, do anything it takes to win snarling menace".

10. Mentality
Here we have the world falling apart and bush is ranting on and trying to distract us himself. He should be talking about a real plan in Iraq instead of accusing democrats of measuring drapes.

But then when they stole the white house, instead of looking over the situation in the world, you know, you know, like "bin laden wants to fly airplanes into tall buildings" maybe his mind was on NEW DRAPES. Like I said since that was upper most on HIS mind maybe he thinks everyone is a dim bulbed as he is.

Remember?

Talk about cocky. With the Presidential election in a tie which would not be resolved until SCOTUS intervened five weeks later the Chimp wasted no time *arrogantly* assembling his new cabinet prospects, effectively measuring the drapes for the White House.

It's like virtually every f*cking thing with these assholes, everything they criticize the Dems for, they are guilty of themselves times ten. Of course, were it not for their totally inept and partisan governance for the past six years they wouldn't be in the fix they are in.

42. Word!
His "protect the people" puffery is one of the most grating and condescending of his routine spiels (right up there with anyting involving "September the Eleventh"...is that like "Henry the Eighth"?). Geez, it's one step removed from saying "daddy knows best, don't worry now (...or dare question anything I do)." Considering his zero public track record on stopping any 'attack', why would anyone trust that bozo.
His job was meant to be defending the Constitution, not protecting the people, and he doesn't even live up to that Constitutionally-mandated duty (b'bye, 4th Amendment, in part). Plus, I thought a big (R)sehole mantra was about protecting themselves FROM the government.

Plus, "protection" by bush is just a tad less assuring than protection by Barney Fife...and only after Barney shot himself in the foot.

Ad hominems aren't even enough. They have to be pot/kettle ad hominems.

Unfortunately, they arrogated to themselves the patent rights on corruption, fraud, sexual perversions and promiscuity, the Big Lie, extortion, just plain criminality, so even claims of breaching patent rights in that context ring somewhat hollow, don't they.

33. Democrats don't need new drapes...
unless they are totally stained from the Republicans jacking off on them.

If Senators and Representatives are able to decide what color of drapes and other color coordinated furnishings for their office it should be put to a stop. Either one or two colors from the stockroom should be available. If they don't quite fit... tough! Each set of draperies and other furnishings should be dated. If they can last 20 years then it shouldn't be replaced for 20 years unless wear and tear is sufficient to justify replacement.
