Friendly Republican warnings...
From the LA Times today:

..snip ..
Democrats said they will launch a new television ad in Wisconsin accusing President Bush of misleading Americans on the threat from Iraq.

The ad shows Bush saying in his State of the Union address, "Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." The ad goes on to say, "But now we find out it wasn't true."

Republicans warned broadcasters not to air the ad, calling it "deliberately false and misleading." Some have argued Bush's statement was technically accurate because it attributed the uranium claim to the British.
..unsnip

I was disappointed that they didn't give details about who threatened to do what to whom.

Should the Democrats be warning Fox news not to publish false and misleading propaganda ? We'd put them out of business !

1. Yeah, what is this 'technically accurate' bullsh*t?
"The British have learned". Not "The British suspect", or "The British claim". They have learned something we know to be false. Lies, lies, and more lies.

3. The difference between Dems and Repubs...
Republicans proudly obey the letter of the law, but routinely violate the spirit of the law to meet their needs (e.g., a technically accurate but deceptive statement is not a lie in their minds).

5. Another "Technically Accurate" Statement....
"I did not have Sexual Intercourse with that woman..."
Under DC law, Sexual Intercourse was defined as Penile penetration of the Vagina. Thus, you could stick it in every hole but the glory hole and still not have "Intercourse".

And of course, we ALL know how the ReTHUGlicans responded to THAT little "Technically Accurate" statement, don't we?

2. Every time some plant from the CIA came up with a...
carbureator from an '88 Ford Taurus buried in the sand in the Middle East, Fox would declare that WMDs have been found and never once did they retract their claims after saner eyes found such claims bogus. Now the prepublicunts find our veracity faulty?

Where's my lawyer?

4. True Republican Colors
The ad would tell the TRUTH. Republicans hide from the truth the way Dracula hides from light; and they will use tried and true republican tactics of bullying to prevent the TRUTH from being shed on the public. Republicans are consistent. They don't want us to know the truth about any POTUS (Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, or the previous governor of texas).

6. The only thing "deliberately false and misleading" about it
Is the part where Bush speaks. FUCK the GOP.

7. It sounds like they're talking about Misleader.org.
They're not directly connected with the Dem Party though...strange.
