Exit Iraq and Afghanistan Soon, Say Britons
Many adults in Britain believe their armed forces should stop taking part in the coalition effort, according to a poll by ICM Research released by the Sunday Telegraph. 54 per cent of respondents think their country should pull its troops out of Iraq now or by the end of the year.

In addition, 52 per cent of respondents believe the British soldiers who are participating in the war on terrorism in Afghanistan should also be withdrawn before 2007.

Afghanistan has been the main battleground in the war on terrorism. The conflict began in October 2001, after the Taliban regime refused to hand over Osama bin Laden, prime suspect in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. Al-Qaeda operatives hijacked and crashed four airplanes on Sept. 11, 2001, killing nearly 3,000 people.
