Lieberman urges Dems to alter their ways
By JOHN CHRISTOFFERSEN, Associated Press Writer
23 minutes ago

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sen. Joe Lieberman, running as an independent after losing the Democratic primary, said Tuesday he hoped Democrats seize control of Congress — with one caveat: a Democratic-led Congress, he said, must change its ways.

"It won't represent progress that's real," Lieberman told reporters while stopping at a transportation forum in New Haven. "It's not going to be much of a step forward if there's a new Democratic leadership that doesn't change the tone in Washington."

As recently as Friday, Lieberman, a lifelong Democrat who was his party's nominee for vice president in 2000, would not say whether he thinks the nation would be better off with the Democrats in control of Congress.

Democrats must gain 15 House seats and six Senate seats to win control of Congress. Lieberman has said he would remain a member of the Democratic caucus if he wins on Nov. 7.

8. Why all the bipartisan BS from Baker, Clinton, Hamilton, and Lieberman?
Sheesh - bipartisanship is used AGAINST Democrats and FOR Republicans every time it becomes an issue.

Jim Baker, Poppy Bush, Bill Clinton, Lee Hamilton and Joe Lieberman can form their own circle jerk and play cover each other's ass all day long - and leave my country alone.

47. I never thought I'd agree
with everyone one that list, but I am so sick of this shit. WTF is with Clinton? Everytime I see him in the Bush family orbit
I want to :puke:! Why aren't the pukes ever encouraged to be "bi-partisan"??? Is it because any and every criticism or disagreement of Bush's policy is seen as partisanship? Bet your ass it is! The pukes were soooooooo much worse to Clinton and I never heard talk about "Clinton Hate" and obstructionism. I can't wrap my head around why Clinton is doing this. Everyone else on
your list - yeah, could have seen that coming - but Bubba? That hurts.

I've read many of your posts and I think you know what you're talking about. I know you respect and admire Kerry :), which is a huge plus in my book...so what's your take on this Clinton nonsense?

One more question: Do I remember correctly that you live in NH - maybe even in the outlet capital of the north? It's my home state and I miss it so now that I'm southern living.

But born in Ohio, with most adult years living in NYC and LA.

I Really think Clinton got coopted long ago by Poppy playing on Clinton's naivete and eagerness to do well..... so, when Clinton took office, Poppy convinced him to not pursue all the outstanding matters in IranContra, BCCI and Iraqgate because of national security and the economy, so Clinton agreed......and that single decision made Clinton part of the coverup, even though I doubt Poppy sold it that way. Then Clinton also covered up CIA drugrunning story when it hit in 95 - what else could he do - at that point he made his bed with Poppy.

I think they need Hillary to get in and do the same for Bush2.

Neither Clinton or Bush needs Kerry in the WH opening the books. The American citizenry, on the other hand, NEEDS truth for a change. Its the citizens who suffer the blowback from all the covert operations done in their names - - 3000 of them on 9-11. Now Iraq. All to keep secrets of what's really been going on for the last 40 plus years - especially the last twenty.

The Repubs are about to take a tumble and Lieb continues to act like he will get a Good Job from bush baby? Has he been assured by the more powerful Dems in D.C. that they will still love him if he can get that Conn. vote? Lamont's a wild card no doubt. They know Joe.

Dear Deserter,

You had a choice between staying true to your party and accepting defeat this past August, or deserting the choice of your party's primary for the potential of personal gain. You made the latter choice. So be it. Get over it. Because most of "your" party has already gotten over you.

39. Solemn requests for "reality" from a fundamentalist orthodox quisling
Godsuckers and moralist pantywaists are just fine if they advance their own agendas, but when they lash out at others while demanding the mantle of spiritual superiority, they cross the line.

Mercifully, he'll probably caucus with the Dems if elected, but he's a very complex problem. He'll destroy the entire human race if he can secure Israel's future, and he'll turn a blind or plucked out eye toward any of Israel's abuses and do so as a priority. His prissy demand of censorship is tiresome. His opportunistic trashing of Clinton at a pivotal moment was shameful, and Gore's attempt to distance himself from Clinton by bringing Holy Joe onto the ticket showed both Lieberman's unprincipled lust for power and Gore's cluelessness.

He's also a tool of the insurance industry and almost singlehandedly derailed any investigation of the Enron greedfest at an important crossroads in the beginning of Junior's administration.

Having said all that, though, the guy's been a real champion of workers' rights and social progress. Anyone who wants to paint him as simplistic is simplistic, but with that oddball primitive religion, he's an enemy of free speech.

At least his heart cleaves toward defense of the weak; for all his other failings, that through line is true.

Maybe Joe should watch some campaign ads around the country.

In Missouri, "Change the Tone" Repuke Jim Talent is running one of the sleaziest, sickest ads I've seen to date - he infers that McCaskill is responsible for sexual abuse of the elderly in nursing homes. I've seen this horrible ad at least 50 times in the last week.

And now Joe says that DEMOCRATS need to change the tone???? Wake up, asshole! Smell the fucking coffee!

Caveat: I am not saying it is 100% certain Lieberman is a Bushevik mole, but it is certainly more than likely, at least 50-50, that he is one.
