S. Koreans say U.S. basis for nuclear test
Four in 10 South Koreans blamed the United States more than any other country for North Korea's test of a nuclear weapon, a survey said.

Of 500 adults questioned by South Korea's Research Plus research firm, 43 percent selected the United States over other countries as the one most responsible for the test North Korea performed Monday, the Korea Times said Sunday.

North Korea was chosen second with 37 percent, followed by South Korea with almost 14 percent, China with about 2 percent and Japan with 1 percent.

The telephone survey conducted Tuesday and Wednesday has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent, the Times said.

2. how bout the US get out of S Korea and let them deal with NK by themselves
korea is not vital to american interests, except as it affects Japan perhaps.

korea is a big time economy that got that way because of US protection

let em reunite on their own terms.

we are already losing Iraq and going to lose Afghanistan thanks to the commando in chief, isnt that enuff?

8. Pure assumption
based on nothing but years of incessant propaganda and vilification. The invasion of South Korea by the North is a practical impossibility both tactically and economically. North Korea could never sustain such an invasion. South Korea on the other hand, has a thoroughly modern military and the ability to support it, with very formidable defenses in place.

Are the crimes we have committed against the Korean people not enough? Must these atrocities forever be compounded by demonization as well?

For years the Koreas have been negotiating agreements that would allow for the integration of their economies, and the eventual reunification of the country. The neo-fascists in the U.S. have an interest in preventing these agreements for some reason, as they have opposed them at every opportunity, hence the intense propaganda campaign against North Korea.

The South Koreans have good reason for faulting the U.S. for the intensified friction with their northern brothers and sisters.

3. We need to pull our military out of Korea.
The job they were there for has been accomplished. South Korea is now a stable democracy with a strong economy and a booming population. They have the ability to kick Kim's ass is he ever wants to come south.

We did the right thing in 1950 by defending the south for Communist agression. (Although I think we should have kicked the Chinese back to the Yalu after they jumped in. Then we wouldn't have the problem of Kim now.)

We did the right thing in staying and helping them build a nation. It took a long time. They had problems with dictators for a while, but they have been a democracy now for long enough that I think it will stick.

Now it is time to let them stand on their own feet - completely. And if they don't care enough about freedom to be willing to defend themselves from a direct attack, then they don't deserve to be free.

Announce a three year phased pull-out. That will give them time to make whatever changes they want to make. If they want to develop nukes to counter Kim's, that would be their decision.

side, white hat, never smiting without good reason.... well almost never. What the world thinks matters, and this is what it thought a couple years ago.
