Rumsfeld Headed to Iraq
http://www.voanews.com/article.cfm?objectID=B1E0F815-7C2E-46D2-9C5473B77472FA18

U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is expected in Iraq Saturday, but few other details of the trip have been released.
His trip comes one day after a roadside bomb explosion near a Baghdad mosque killed four Iraqis and one American soldier.

Also Friday, the top U.S. administrator in Iraq told the Associated Press that U.S. forces believe insurgents will increase attacks in the next few months in an effort to stop the political and economic reconstruction of Iraq. But Paul Bremer says U.S. forces are now getting better intelligence about those behind the attacks.

In other developments, export credit agencies from 16 countries signed a $2 billion deal to help finance reconstruction in Iraq. It is separate from the $33 billion in pledges made at an Iraq donor's conference in October.

Rummy, why don't you stay for awhile?

1. 3rd times a charm.
tried a hit last time he went to Baghdad and then recently in Afghanistan. I don't think Rummy will be coming back from this trip. I hope so though because personally I'd like to see him publicly humilated for his crimes.

Rumsfeld visits Iraqi northern oil fields

<http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2003-12-06-rumsfeld-visit_x.htm>

KIRKUK, Iraq (AP) — Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, without advanced public notice, flew into northern Iraq early Saturday, landing in the heart of country's northern oil fields.

Rumsfeld's Air Force C-17 cargo plane flew here from Tblisi, Georgia, where he told that country's leaders that the United State supports Georgia's independence.

It was the second time in four months that Rumsfeld has visited Iraq, but his first to Kirkuk, the center of Iraq's northern oil industry.
