Wolfowitz Warns Iraq's Neighbors Not to Interfere (Great Ironic Quote)
snip...............

Wolfowitz, one of the architects of the U.S.-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein, told a news conference in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul that Washington would, however, welcome outside help.

"I think all foreigners should stop interfering in the internal affairs of Iraq," said Wolfowitz, who is touring the country to meet U.S. troops and Iraqi officials.

"Those who want to come and help are welcome," he said. "Those who come to interfere and destroy are not."

"I think our success will have a positive influence not just on Iraq but on the whole region," he said. "Some people are afraid of that influence and they are targeting us."

16. And if you go chasing rabbits and you know you're going to fall...
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head
Feed your head
Feed your head"

White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane

2. Should we quote a British commander in Iraq back in 1917?
"Our armies do not come into your cities and lands as conquerors or enemies, but as liberators."

to conquer portions of the Middle East. They tossed him out, too, after a few short years.

13. Prosecute him for "criminal hypocrisy" or "negligent irony"
The quotes are among the most offensive things I've read in weeks. It's almost as if the sob is challenging us to call him on his bs, knowing we can't...yet.

"The U.S. military has also said some foreign fighters have been trying to slip into Iraq to mount attacks."

17. You have to understand the meaning of his words:
citizens who can meddle in Iraq = neocons from the U.S.

foreigners who cannot meddle in Iraq = Iraqis, other non-Americans, liberal and moderate Americans

18. Makes me wonder who the "foreigners" are?
It's the first time I've heard us whining (this loudly anyway)
about outside interference.

I was not aware of any large scale foreign interference
at this point, I thought everybody was being careful to
let us stew in our own juices while keeping their own hands
clean.

22. Indeed
Bush sent America's sons and daughters into the heart of the Middle East to be sitting ducks for any islamic extremist with fatwah in hand. There's no way they can secure the entire border of Iraq and prevent these groups from entering. Why is it we're blaming the governments of Syria and Iran yet not Saudi Arabia?

Bite the hand that feeds him, yet. That comes in the second term.
His Saudi 'partners' are protected from on high, as they were *before* 9-11.

Remember, he has more in common with *them* than he does you...

28. "forces of reaction"
US Secretary of Defence Paul Wolfowitz has insisted attackers not be called "resistance". He says they should be called "forces of reaction" whose sole aim is to restore Saddam to power.

<http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,6788836%255E663,00.html>

It’s not that certain Iraqis are resisting American occupation, it’s because they are “reacting” to American occupation. <I dunno…just sitting here with a disbelieving grin>
