Bush says any new Mideast peace initiative should follow his blueprint
Bush gave a guarded reaction Thursday to an unofficial peace plan for the Middle East, saying the new initiative should follow his blueprint for fighting terrorism and establishing a Palestinian state that is democratic and free.

"We appreciate people discussing peace. We just want to make sure that all the principles to peace are clear," Bush told reporters during an Oval Office meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II.

The architects of the alternative, Israeli Yossi Beilin and Palestinian Yasser Abed Rabbo, are campaigning this week for Washington's approval.

The deal would give the Palestinians almost all of the West Bank and Gaza Strip and part of Jerusalem, drawing Israel's borders close to what existed before the 1967 Mideast war. It calls for the removal of most Israeli settlements in those areas and limits the "right of return" for Palestinians who fled or were driven out during the 1948-49 war, and their descendants.

2. re: 'his blueprint'
I thought we were following the Israeli blueprint-leveling homes of suspected terrorists, etc. What is 'his blueprint'? The 'road map' is not his idea, although he will take credit for it. His 'blueprint' in Iraq is so convoluted that no one would ever attempt to copy it. What is this man talking about?

which 'blueprint'? Considering squatter has no diplomatic skills and is thoroughly inept w/ ANY foreign policy - this current plan finally addresses real issues and concerns - 'right to return' is a huge step forward. There should B a global push 2 C this plan is accepted altho Sharon will have 2 go B4 this is implemented. He is adamantly opposed 2 'right to return'.

4. Great idea
Since invading Middle Eastern countries is what gets him off, and invading Israel wouldn't be such a good idea, why not give the Palestinians their own state and then just invade that!
