Madrid, Dec 3 - Attackers launched mortars at a Honduran military base in the southern Iraqi city of Najaf on Wednesday, the Spanish Defence Ministry said.

Two mortars exploded inside and two outside the base.

The attack did not cause injuries or material damage.

Honduras has 370 peacekeepers stationed in Iraq as part of the Spanish-commanded plus ultra brigade, which forms part of a Polish-led peacekeeping force in southern and central Iraq.
