5. Some things I don't understand:

in picture #5 one of the "counter-demonstrators" is wearing camo fatigues with the American flag on the arm...is this guy actual National Guard, Army or just a poseur?

What the hell has the CONFEDERATE FLAG got to do with immigration policy? Why did the "counter demonstrators" CHEER the black jeep driving by with the confederate flag?

7. I was pretty blown away too

a couple of weeks ago. I was taking my 84-year-old aunt shopping. She's lived in the same house in the same neighborhood for 60 years. The ethnicity of the neighborhood has changed many times in those 60 years. At the moment, it's heavily Hispanic. My aunt and I are Caucasian.

Funny thing happened at the grocery store. A new checkout stand had just opened up, the clerk motioned my aunt to come forward and a young lady literally shoved her cart in front of ours to get ahead of us in the line. I made a remark indicating that her action was rude. Wherein a young man (appearing to be) of Hispanic descent, IN THE NEXT LINE OVER informed my aunt and I that we were in the wrong neighborhood and we should go back to "our own neighborhood."

Racism can come from all kinds of people and they're not all Caucasian.

10. Being from NJ, I can hypothesize...

That the likely majority of the counter-protestors did not come from Riverside. We have a rather spritely little bunch of racist shitheads who, of course, mask their real intentions an views with a lot of obfuscating high-minded verbiage. Make no mistake, they are garden-variety racist swine. We have klan, neo-nazis and other unsavory types in the rural areas, as well in Eastern PA and NY state.

I am sure that these muttonheads drove to the demonstration to get a piece of the action.

And to think, NJ just built a light rail line through there, in an effort to encourage development. The place even has the coveted "transit village" designation, one of only 16 in NJ. Oh boy. Sign me up right away. NOT.

Officials in this town of about 8,000 said the ordinance was needed to ensure public safety by, among other things, limiting the number of people living in a single residence.

The number of illegal immigrants in Riverside has been pegged as high as 3,500 by Mayor Charles Hilton, who did not attend the protest. Most are from Brazil.

Huh? So nearly half the town is Brazilian? I doubt it.

Then again, the mayor isn't the only :dunce: on the scene:

Three banks have pledged to work with immigrants in Riverside to help them obtain mortgage loans, Rivera said. He vowed to start a local Spanish-speaking church, and said pastors planned to return on the first day of school to make sure immigrant children attended without harassment.

But if most immigrants there are Brazilian, wouldn't they want to worship in a Portuguese-speaking church? :eyes:

Finally:

Some in the crowd were intoxicated. Some waved Confederate flags, while others thrust their right arms up to resemble a Nazi salute. Dozens had signs calling for tighter border control.

Why do these sickos hate America so much? Both the Confederacy and Nazi Germany made war on the very United States these people claim to love!
