Aug. 20, 2006 — Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., blasted fellow a Democrat, Sen. Joe Lieberman, for continuing his bid in the Connecticut Senate race despite a narrow loss to newcomer Ned Lamont in the Democratic primary earlier this month.

"I'm concerned that is making a Republican case," Kerry told ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" in an exclusive appearance.

Kerry accused the 2000 Democratic vice presidential candidate of "adopting the rhetoric of Dick Cheney," on the issue of Iraq.

"Joe Lieberman is out of step with the people of Connecticut," Kerry added, insisting Lieberman's stance on Iraq, "shows you just why he got in trouble with the Democrats there."

It just keeps coming back to me. I keep asking the same question. How different is Joe now than six years ago? And does it say anything about who Al Gore is?

Don't get me wrong. I used to think Gore was way too far to the right for me. But in his appearances in the last few years, Al has blown me away with his brilliant and thoughtful speeches. I love the guy.

I got most of my news then from public radio. They did not overplay the sex scandal as did the TV networks and 24 hour cable networks. All these details of "some Democrat" criticizing President Clinton for not controlling his libido when right past me and did not record.

When Gore picked Lieberman, my impression, was why in the hell did he do that? Gore should have picked a candidate from a large swing state like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida or West Virginia.

Cheney isn't just an enabler and a politician on the take--he is an engine of evil. He doesn't endear himself, the way Lieberman and Wallace could. He never wavers off the path of evil, the way Wallace and Lieberman could. Democrats must learn to adhere to party discipline, and close their hearts to their old buddy Joe if they want to have any Democratic Party at all. Nobody needs to work hard to close their hearts to Cheney. It's a matter of degree. If I had a choice==remove Lieberman or Cheney, it would be Cheney, hands down.

the reporter did. Kerry as the quote says, said Lieberman is using rhetoric like Cheney's - and that is precisely what Lieberman has done since he lost. Lieberman has been saying that Lamont doesn't understand terrorism and has implied that his position on Iraq - which in the Senate seems to boil down to backing Kerry/Feingold helps the terrorist.

Kerry is responding to support Lamont from an obnoxious attack and to defend his own position.

Not even two weeks out from losing, Joe is probably experiencing his highest point in the polls he's going to have between now and November. Republicans won't vote for a democrat and dems won't vote for him. Independents won't trust him as he is a rubber stamp for B**sh.
