Hastert: U.S. can defend its borders like it has Iraq's
House Speaker Dennis Hastert voiced confidence Tuesday that the United States can block illegal immigrants from crossing the nation's borders even though he estimates there are up to 15 million living here already.

"I always say if we can protect Iraq's borders against Syria and, you know, Jordan, and everyplace else, Iran, we can protect our own borders," he said.

Hastert also said the "bad apples" - which he did not define - among the country's millions of illegal immigrants should be deported.

"We are serious about taking illegal aliens and moving them outside borders of our country," he said.

23. Exactly!
I thought we were in Iraq to try to lure al Qaeda there so we wouldn't have to fight them here.

Is our new immigration policy to lure illegals so we don't have to send any more jobs there?

18. He He He
Hastert, what a mofo. Wasn't he the one who called Clinton a slime ball for the Monica thing, only later to confess to a "youthful indiscretion" that resulted in an illegitimate child? This "youthful indiscretion" occurred at age 40 +/-. Don't get me wrong, nothing against illegitimate kids, just the hypocritical asses.

His statement makes no sense to me. Does he mean we will keep the borders porous enough to allow, like in Iraq, the "war" to continues within? Is this some weird flypaper reference?

If we protected Iraq's borders, how did all those terrorists you claim to be there get there in the first place?

22. and to add to your observation....
If the Iraq/Syria...ummm Jordon...errr...other borders are secure - how are weapons/wmds being smuggled in as you and GOPers often point out?

well, all I can say is that if we secure our borders like we've secured Iraq's borders, then I feel about as safe as a side of beef in a tiger's cage

27. Well, let's be fair now. Most of the terra-ists are actually homegrown
products, from within the borders of Iraq. LoL.

29. True that.
But the real truth is somewhere in-between, I think. The Iraq borders are not secure, there are demonstably weapons and personnel getting in to fight us. There are not as many of them (percentage wise) as Iraqis fighting us.

Denny would have us believe that the vast majority poured across the border from Jordan, Syria, and Iran to fight us, and that we have totally secured the borders there in such a way that we would be safe in the US if we did the same thing to our borders.

24. Hey Dennis...
is that not like expecting illegal immigrants to protect our US borders? But then they don't bomb the shit out of us before their arrival. These morans must live in an un-parallel universe to keep coming up with new nonsense to justify their existence.

26. HAHAHAHAHA! Denny, please meet reality, reality please meet Denny.
I know you two haven't been acquainted for quite some time, but I'd like you to start seeing each other more often. Oh Denny, Reality says that the borders in Iraq are so frigging porous, you know, that's how all the weapons and terra-ists get in, that you must be crazy or outright lying to say such things. Oh wait, Reality says that you're a Republican, guess that explains everything.....

30. And Mexicans will love us just as much as they do in the Middle East
when some nervous 19 year old with a rifle out in the desert makes a mistake and shoots some family crossing the border.

Why should we just be fueling the kind of resentment that breeds new terrorists in Iraq when we can do it right here in our own hemisphere, right next door? What a wonderful idea, moron.
